it's all cyclical. Same thing is happening in rock/pop. We're stuck in a phase where nothing has soul and everything is aimed at the upper class teen market. It's all about glamour and image these days - I blame Kanye.

The good stuff is still there, but it's all underground for now. Give it 3 or 4 years and we'll see the real sh** come back into the mainstream when people realize that they're tired of music with zero substance.

I agree, but it's not just rap and hip-hop that is degrading, ALL mainstream music is getting worse and worse. I don't even listen to FM stations anymore in my car, just my ipod or sports radio. I am looking forward to the new TI album when it comes out tho. I like his first single. As for Usher and Luda, wtf is up with them being all over Justin Beiber's nuts? I'm sure they're getting paid but it's like c'mon guys...

And it's not just rap, music in general has a taken a giant dive. The "hits" station only plays Gaga, Ke$ha, etc. I don't even listen to the radio anymore. I just burn MP3 CD's and listen to them.

agreed, rap today is so stupid.........its all about sex, money, dirty shit like that. Some dont even makes sense.....I cant stand artists like T-PAIN, LIL WAYNE etc cause they cant sing without the help of autotune....The only artist that i respect is Beyonce, she can sing live, without a mike and she sings about things that are real and not fake.
