I don't like the CF specifically, but there is nothing wrong with wrapping an exotic to keep the factory paint in show room condition while you enjoy driving it. Plenty of exotics have had a clear full wrap.

CF Wrap on an F40? Another case of: "money can't buy taste"
Want to protect the paint? Clear wrap it like everyone else. Exposed CF = tacky unless it's real unpainted CF that serves a function.

I think the paint on the F40 is very very very thin (to save weight?). If it's there for protection, good for him; maybe he got sick of looking at a red f40 and wanted something different. He can always change it back when he's going to resell.
If I could change the color of my million dollar car w/o significantly affecting its resale value when I return it back to its original color...why not?

I like it because it's different and unique, but I guess most people don't agree. Oh well. |

I agree that a solid color would have been fine, still questionable, but much, much less so. I can't tell from the shot, but is this car a track version with center locks and higher boost, or the "regular" one with five bolt wheels? |

Isn't the purpose of posting the pic for us to give our opinions? IMHO........ crap! A rolling work of art should not be covered up.

Holy shit...just realized that this is a local car...lol.
Some of the pics are taken at Sparkling Hill at Predator Ridge in Vernon, BC...but the plates are Alberta. Will have to look for it at some of the local car shows....maybe talk to the owner and see what he was thinking. |

i think its pretty cool, reminds me of the FXX in a way. like i would do it because its a fun way to change the color of your car when ever you want and not having to repaint the car.
who cares the car is still money with or with out CF vinyl. im sure if you saw it moving an didnt know it was wrapped most people would do double takes because its so different. i know i would. im just glad he didnt paint it. |
