Honestly there are just too many variables that leave an end user with good/bad coverage. Compairing companies at face value is just a waste of time IMO. If you find one that works, stick with it... but companies using their "better" coverage as a marketing tool is lame.

Yeah, seems like its more a problem with the iphone really than verizon(the call dropping). 2 weeks back I had to drive 2 miles out to get service with at&t, I just had enough. No problems yet with verizon.

Haha, that reminds me of living in Los Angeles.

In the 5 years I lived in LA I must have called 911 8-10 times. My office was in a really sketchy industrial neighborhood and there was always some kind of drama going on. Called in for fights/drunk drivers/hit and runs/car fires, etc. Maaaaaybe once I actually got connected to 911 immediatly... the rest of the time it was busy. Fucking busy? Awesome.

Don't want to single anyone out or anything... but lots of times these criticisms come from people who only use their computer for gaming and porn. And hey that's cool.. I can see where the arguments/comparisons are coming from. But if you want a workhorse machine in my experience Apple's hardware (or the quality of it) though it might be slightly slower when compared to some has always been superior.

I'm on my third Macbook Pro (started with a Powerbook of course) and I've had to replaced them every 5-6 years ONLY because they were just starting to get too slow for period software, not because the keyboard broke/or the screen burnt out, etc.

When I was younger and gamed a lot, I'd replace my entire (or at least part) of my computer every year, now that I'm older and don't give a shit I buy things that'll last... In my experience Macs just last longer. PC laptops are disposable.. and are priced as such.

Yeah, I've been a Mac user for life as well. Haven't had a single Mac "die" like I've seen PCs do too often. My gf just bought the new 13" MBP last night and she loves it! Much faster than my original 15" MBP which I still use as my workhorse.

Hopefully this summer my boss will buy me this new $4k MBP I spec'd out.

I think we may have reached agreement on this in another thread.

Old Macs were *leagues* above the PC competition in quality. New Macs though, in my opinion are only a few steps above. To me...not worth the cost.

When you compare a 2K Mac to a $300 PC of course the Mac will last longer.

My dad has been using the same IBM Thinkpad since 1999. Its been dropped 20 ft, set on fire (by a candle, not the computer), and has been running overclocked at 140% processor capacity since 2001.

It was 3K new. You cant expect that type of quality from a $400 machine...it just doesnt happen. and if I spend as much as Apple is charging on a MacBook it damn well better last 5 years.


Personally, im on my third iPhone 3GS in a year. The first one went because the phone forgot that it had an antenna for Wifi and 3G service, the second one just stopped turning on one day, and my third one is having more software bugs...I am not comming back to Apple anytime soon.
