I effing love that STi wagon. No lie, if VW brings the Scirocco R over here I would love to daily drive one. That might be the meanest looking hatch in a while.
Not sure if I'd sell my 328i for it, but daaayuuum this "Studie R" looks amazing. 270 hp.

With the currency where it is now, it makes it even easier to sell a better quality product in Europe because of the relative value of the currency. It could also have to do with emissions and other regulatory aspects, but I really don't know. The diesels are certainly a regulatory issue, particularly California and some northeastern states being a pain in the ass. That is specifically why we didn't get the Subaru Legacy turbodiesel; it could meet requirements for every state but Cali and NY I think. In the end, it must all come down to money in one way or another... if they could make enough money to balance the hassle, you can bet they would be over here.

I rented a Renault Clio Sport Cup for the Nurburgring. Very light weight and easy to toss around the track. It was a blast!

I was very dissappointed with our MKV R32. Performance was not great, fuel economy was horrible, handled more like a FWD than an AWD. Fit and finish were good and the interior was nice although the sunroof rattled like crazy. Very high road noise inside.

my first VW was a MKII GTI 16V2.0L; missed that car. Everything was basic, even the sunroof was manual.
IF I would to get a hatchback, it would be a slightly used R32, and slap on a turbo kit ~400ish hp. |

I doubt it, besdies if there was going to be an AWD turbo Fiesta they would be developing it in Europe. You might as well buy a MINI Countryman S All4 if you want a small AWD turbo hatch.

All that being said bmw is crazy not offering some kind of 135I hatch. I would have bought that instead of my coupe. Even a 130I hatch. I'm talking for north america.
