I think I'm going to try the mattress topper route first, but I have no idea which ones to seriously consider.

The Serta Ultimate looks decent, but a lot of mixed reviews. Anyone have one of these or another one?

I've got the Rhapsody and pillows. The fucking is VERY different. There is not rebound like you get from the spring mattresses. It allows you to just pump and pump harder. You and the other party don't move around the bed, it's just one spot and it made for hard nailing. It's a nice change.

I would suggest the Costco house brand "Novaform", its the same thing for about 25% of the cost. "TempurPedic isn't anything special, it's nothing than more different density sheets of viscoelastic memory foam.

Despite all of their claims, the only thing that's special about it is they have this patent "A laminated support for pressure-relief comprising an upper layer of visco-elastic foam, a middle layer of visco-elastic foam having a greater hardness, and a bottom layer of highly resilient polyurethane foam. These layers are sandwiched between two layers of reticulated filter polyurethane foam." So basically it's that way the layers are glued together, go pull the cover off of any other brand and you'll see the same thing.

Many of the copy-cat brands use a different compound in the base layer that actually last longer - the latex brands are the best if your not allergic. Nice thing about the Costco mattress is that they take anything back (or they used to so check the policy) but use it for 6 months if you don't like it take it back for a refund.. You owe it to yourself to give it a shot before wasting your money on branding.

Yup, have two of them in my house. The one that I am on is about 5yrs old and perfect still. I am a big guy (250) and most beds have historically gotten the dent in them. This one - no problems what so ever.

Looks like I am not going to go Tempur-Pedic. Don't want to shell out that kind of cash.

I believe I am either going to go with one of the Serta iComfort mattresses or the Costco Novaform topper or mattress by Sleep Innovations.

I want to stay away from the the 99999999 no name ones out there (Unless people have 1st hand positive experience with some of them)

bought myself a Sleep2Live mattress, sort of a hybrid, foam on top and spring in the middle..cal king for $2100..thought about tempurpedic but i hate sleeping on a hot bed, especially in the summer, so the hybrid helps ease the heat a little...haven't slept on it much but it's pretty good and cool when i sleep on it..i had lower back surgery and this mattress seems to help. got it from sit n sleep store in socal...
here's a link to the mattress technology..

Don't buy the topper, buy the full bed at costco. Like I said before, sleep on it for a few months, if you don't like it return it.

Sleepy's & Raymour offer 0% financing for 2 years on the Tempur-Pedic. So rather than have to fork out $3,500 or so at once, I can pay it over a few months to soften the blow. I am a cheap fuck. Yet I just spent $2k on wheels & tires for my 335 without thinking twice LOL.

I woke up one morning with a really sore neck, after a nearly sleepless night. I bought a tempurpedic neck pillow (small) and my sleep has been tons better. Even on days I sleep five or six hours, I don't feel as bad as I did before.

After sleeping on one, I didn't blink an eye to buy the second for my son (in part because *I* spent a goodly amount of time in it instead of him)

You MUST have a good frame/foundation for these. We had the TP foundation from about 5 years ago, and it squeaked like a mofo. I called them up and complained, got a new one in about 2 weeks delivered to the house and the old one taken away.

I can't say I notice any 'heat' issues with the mattress.

Ive read online many complaints about the Novafoam at Costco. They do not seem to last very long and there are various stories online of material deformation, "holes" forming in the foam etc., do a quick google and you will see, but you are getting it at a steal of price so I guess you should know that from the onset..

After alot of research I bought a healthyfoundations mattress its the shizznit!! And they have a great return policy and what seems like fantastic reviews. I was very nervous when I bought it since it was sight unseen but it has turned out fantastic and dont regret it all. I shopped Tempurs as well so that was my reference point and this one feels very similar to a Deluxe for a third of the price. (1100 for queen) Ive had it for over 3 months now and I cant imagine going back.

check it out, Im definitely very happy with it and apparently it has a 1 year return policy plus no hidden fees on return..

www.healthyfoundations.com

Also if you want a Tempur go directly to their website. 48 months 0% financing. I was about to do this before I found this mattress, saw the reviews, and decided to try it.

I've loved my TP mattress and pillow for the four years I've been using them. It is as good now as it was the day I took delivery. The only thing that didn't last were the free 600-thread count sheets they threw in with the pillow. The sheets were awesome, and were a bit oversized so that they didn't pull tight as the mattress conforms to your body. I used them constantly (washing them of course), so they eventually wore out.

No complaints here.

I tried the Serta iComfort genius, Revolution & Insight again tonight. Insight feels like cheap junk, Revolution is $1k less than the Tempur-Pedic Cloud I want, but doesn't feel good enough to spend $2,500 on it. The Genius wasn't bad, but I'll have to try it again.

Still have no idea wtf I am going to buy. This is harder than shopping for a car. There are really next to zero online sites to get legit info on any of these mattresses.
