I'm glad I have a couple of years before my actual career starts. Still in college and classes don't start until 9

I still hate waking up early

First alarm @ 5:40.. I try to snooze but start thinking about everything I need to do at work that day. After 5 minutes of that i'm too stressed to go back to sleep, so drag my ass to the shower.

All my life I have had the problem of not being able to wake up in the morning for work. The alarm goes off and all I want to do is shut it off and close my eyes. On the weekend or a day with no work I can't stay asleep for anything. I do not understand it at all and the past 3 months or so it has been really bothering me. I have an awesome job that pays really well and I feel like I am so close to just saying fuck it to everything.

Alarm goes off at 6:40am. I get up with no snooze. Take a shower and I'm awake after that.

You mean massive body roll, a steering system that is not connected to the front wheels, and the engine note played through the speaker system?!?!?!?!

A routine will help ...

Also something to do with the # of hours you sleep. I notice tiredness if I sleep 7 hours but not 6 or 8. I believe there's a sleep cycle or something around there, and the idea is to get an even number of them.

Waiting up in the dark in winter sucks - I get up and turn on a light, it helps.

Yeah. The way coffee affects you is something people don't think about. It dehydrates you (I don't understand how people drink it all day!?!) and, after a certain amount (for me, 6-8 oz) makes it hard to concentrate.
The caffeine in coffee is also different, it lasts for a long time. Tea is a better alternative in that respect. Everything in moderation.

I started noticing that intervals of 1.5 hours make me feel a lot more refreshed. Something about normal REM cycles on that timing. Getting up in the middle of that time (to a noisy alarm clock) makes me tired all day long. So if I already know I won't make it to sleep at 10, I stay up to 11:30.

The best feeling is when you go to sleep, say around 10pm and wake up around 2 or 3 am to see to see that you have 4 or 5 more hours of sleep.

But the worth feeling is when you wake up within minutes before your alarm clock and just sit there in bed only to hear our alarm clock go off a few minutes later, almost giving you a heart attack.

and this.

My dog woke me up because she had the "overwhelming need to shit" at 4:30 this morning. I only had another hour or so of good sleep. 6:05 the rat race begins.

Usually I need to use the bathroom that compels me to get out of bed.

That and having to get to work, and a sense of responsibility to commitments I made and to get things done.

I dont know about hard work but my responsibilities require significant energy and skill.

At the end of the day i need rest, so i take it at work.

Pic of me taken last week, got caught sleeping. You dont get fired, you get covered in Kleenex so everyone knows you are sleeping.

My mind has some internal clock. I tend to wake up 5-10 minutes right before my alarm clock goes off. I wake up to see how much time I have left to sleep, but it's usually like 5 more minutes...fug.
