this is what i was talking about... im guessing you were too?

well i really wish they would keep this or least come back to it... its not a big thing but its something that kept it different from other cars out there. and made the car feel like a bike... sorta

and the font style on the numbers are too much AUDI and VW which is too plane. what happened to the PORSCHE FONTS ?!!! i mean they used it to let you know that your in a boxster on the far right gauge.

its the small things. because im sure most cars in this level can handle, ride, drive, and turn pretty well these days.

old style

I just wish this didn't cost so much!

You're easily looking at $75-80k after you option a S out.
That's e93 M range.
Hell, getting into used nicely equipped 997.2s

Great looking car. Can't wait to see the new Cayman S!

Oh, and I agree that the pricing is getting out of control. But along the same line, why should an M3 cost $80k?

True. There is a lot more going on with the e93 top than the Boxter top (or atleast I believe there is).

Two vehicles for two very different style of driving. I'd rather get a Boxster S over E93 M3, its truer to motorsports than E93. The 997.2 is a better deal tho, I agree

Yes I know they're completely different

I used to own a Boxster a little while ago.

I disagree. I thought the font that Porsche used on the last two generations of its product line looked silly and amateurish -- almost like an italicized Comic Sans. Gauges are supposed to convey information. A crazy font detracts from that delivery.

This one is a lot more straightforward. I dig it.

To each their own, however.

Either way, the one that says "TURBO" probably not in the Boxster

hot. if they make a hard top vert, i would love to buy one as a weekend car.

vert with soft top is old stuff now. don't like them.

now if they offer this with the 3.8L gt3 rs engine with 450hp. imagine listen to that sound with the roof down. wow

I prefer a soft top, fwiw, lighter, and the designers have more freedom.

I would take it that there wouldn't be any easy way to modify that F6 engine? Love everything about it but not sure it would have enough balls ( I don't need crazy power for a street car, but...). It does only have a curb weight of 2910 lbs according to Porsche so it has the nice power-to-weight going for it. Will have to test drive one to see. Really a great looking car inside and out.

That car looks fantastic. I used to own an S2000. It wasn't the fasted car but it had a wonderful gearbox and handled perfectly. There is something about driving a convertible with the top down near dusk in the summer months. The open air and the smell of the summer. Doesn't get much better.

Looks amazing. My only concern is the price and I get a feeling the headlights remind me of the Toyota MRS a tiny bit

Eh... after owning soft tops in the past (986 and 996), and now hard tops (2 e89s, 2 e93s, SLK) I can't see myself going back to a soft top

hard tops are so quiet inside it's amazing. (when the top is up)

in my 986, I could barely have a conversation with my date with the top up (top down is understandable)
