The Zepp is amazing ^^. It can also be used as a Sound Dock. The only thing is the price.
The higher end Sony Dock sounded pretty darn good also. It was around ~300.

Go for Bose. Higher investment is well worth it considering that sound system is one of those things that last decades without a real breakthrough in technology. I mean TVs from 10-20 yrs ago are crap, but 10-20 yr old high quality speakers still sound better than most a few hundred dollar systems nowadays.. |

For everyone saying "dre's suck" "bose is better" is just as ignorant as people buying the Dre's.
Bose makes good stuff, so does Monster. But there is better audio companies out there then both Bose and Monster. |

I personally think the Beatbox by Monster sounds like crap.
I'd personally do the Sony RDPX500IP (sounds really good, also has a built in subwoofer) http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Sony+-+S...ock&cp=1&lp=12 or even the bose sound dock series 2 http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Bose%26%...dock&cp=1&lp=5 |

Here is my collection of Kanto SYD 5's http://s1054.photobucket.com/albums/...er_media_share they weigh about 25lbs each! They also come with a free Bluetooth adaptor you can use to steam to them wireless. They also sound much better than the B/W Zepplin

I tend to the agree the bose stuff is generally overpriced. however, a friend of mine bought the bose portable ipod dock, and it seems pretty nice (better be for $350). We took it on a cruise and brought it everywhere with us. Sitting around by the pool it was plenty loud (and sounded decent enough), even in that wide open area. And the battery had pretty good battery life.
anyway, I would definitely want a portable dock. You can also check out the logitech in this article, if you care about portability.. http://gizmodo.com/5859557/the-best-ipod-dock

I think overall, it sounds awesome. I have to be careful with the bass level on the Subwoofer because next door neighbor complained about hearing nothing but BOOM BOOM coming through my office walls ....No complaint for the little I paid for it ($285 Total and shipping/ No tax = $213 for the stereo and $72 for the subwoofer - Both were clearance items at Vanns.com). It sounds much larger than I had expected. So, I am quite happy |
