It the M3/M4 will be as the M5/M6 all rivals will finally blow-it-out of the water: C AMG, RS4/RS5, IS-F/RC-F, ATS-V, 911 CS, Mustang, Corvette. BMW better do something special for it.

M3 will be sedan version, M4 will be coupe.
Let's see if they have runflat tires and stop/start engines. What's funny is Ford is trying to get a performance reputation while BMW wants volume.

The mustang 2013+ Shelby GT will smack the M3 anyday .. How you going to compete with over 600 ponies. My good friend just got one. It's a legal race car for the streets.

Mustang will never be an m3, but the mustang is a hard bargin to beat. Really hoping the next m3/4 will bring it.

Uh, no. The Camaro ZL1 and Mustang GT500 are both faster around VIR than the M3, M5 and M6. Plenty of turns there.... Both are significantly cheaper than an M3 as well.
http://www.caranddriver.com/features...o-2013-page-10 http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virgi...tional_Raceway Their thoughts on the GT500's handling: "Still, this is the first GT500 that truly handles well. It turns in crisply and is satisfyingly neutral unless you take a 90-degree bend with the stability system turned off or the road is wet, in which case, the back end slides in a controllable manner that will impress your more juvenile friends. On dry roads, in third gear and beyond, the back end stays planted. Surprisingly, despite the antediluvian rear axle, it rides quite comfortably and isn’t upset by midcorner bumps." http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...t500-road-test Even the $38,000 Camaro SS 1LE is faster around VIR than any BMW. The classic "American cars can't handle" line is dead. The Camaros were quoted to have "spectacular stability, predictability, and control". Last edited by CirrusSR22; 06-09-2013 at 09:07 PM.. |

Spare me the "faster around the track" bit. Some tracks are made for 0-60 cars, some are made for 0-100 cars, some are made for cars with better handling, some are made for better brakes etc etc. next time I want a plastic car, ill buy a hot wheels replica! Jeremy Clarksons pretty much got the gist of it hahaha I can do this whole muscle VS import thing all day. I'll just use the Godzilla card LOL

Not sure if ignorant or just trolling? LOL I considered a Boss Leguna Seca and a corvette when looking for my car, if that helps you decide which. Although I actually don't like American cars. Can't deny the performance of the Vette and Boss.

BMW's are good vehicles, but they are not the end all be all of vehicles. No one here is trying to say that the Corvette, Mustang, and Camaro are that either. BMW's are definitely more refined because they are luxury vehicles. The Corvette, Mustang, and Camaro are not. But, they are better performance vehicles than BMW's as shown above with the track times. And it doesn't matter the track. I have seen multiple magazines on different tracks and the Corvette, Camaro, and Mustang are consistently faster than the M's. Any self-respecting car enthusiast wouldn't be spouting the BS you do. You clearly have blinders on. |

I supposed you're going to tell me Vettes aren't plastic? And don't presume to tell me what my mindset was like when car shopping. I test drove both those cars and both blew my car out of the water when it comes to performance. I just couldn't justify buying a car that costs that much for such a crappy interior(in my opinion). One's full plastic and one's still a Mustang. I'm a car enthusiast, but I prefer European cars. Unless we're talking SSC or Saleen, I don't consider American cars to fall under my love for cars. Plenty of people who share my opinion, Jeremy Clarkson included(; I also know plenty of "self-respecting car enthusiasts" who detest all American cars and spout the same "BS" that I do.

Look, no one is trying to knock your preference in cars. If you prefer European cars, fine. But, to ignorantly trying to bash American cars is ridiculous. You give credit where credit is due even if the car is not to your taste. The Corvette, Camaro, and Mustang are good vehicles. Fact is they are faster around the track than M's in certain forms( 1LE, ZL1, GT, GT500, Boss, and most likely Z/28). You trying to dismiss that fact because some tracks are biased towards power, handling, brakes, etc is ridiculous. That is the only area where we can fairly compare them to BMW's. Step out of performance, you can't compare them anymore as they are entirely different vehicles to BMW's. BMW's are luxury sedans, coupes, and CUV's. The Corvette is a sports car and Camaro/Mustang muscle cars. And using Jeremy Clarkson as a way to back up your opinion is a complete joke or anyone from Top Gear. Top Gear is for entertainment only. Top Gear holds zero credibility. I love the show, but I wouldn't use them as a valid source to help form an opinion. I mean they don't know the difference between bHP and wHP( they probably do, but for the shows purposes acted ignorant). Overall, it's your attitude. If you stated, " Corvette's are good cars, cheap interior and are not my taste" no one would be on your case right now. The way you're stating things is getting people jumping on you.
