Paying sticker for a car goes against my beliefs. That's like over $7k in profit. I'm going back tomorrow to talk to the GM. Someone else can buy it at sticker.

Good luck trying to convince him to sell it for under sticker price.

The "special models" are marked up and you will never pay under sticker for them.

I know when I was looking for a Raptor, they couldn't keep one on the lot for more than a couple of days. I drove by a dealership on a Thursday night, saw one in the lot and liked it but the dealership was closing and I had to leave. So Friday morning I scheduled an appointment for Saturday to come by and meet with the guy. I worked all day Friday and couldn't come in any earlier than Saturday morning. I called when they opened Saturday morning to let him know I was on my way, and he said they sold it Friday night.

FWIW, every subsequent dealer I went to afterwards in my area did not have a Raptor available. They all said I could order one, but it would take months and I'd be paying the sticker price at the very least. I told them no thanks and gave up...

I googled GT500 and a pic of this came up with the GT500s. Just learned that you can get one of these for your budget as well.

I'd rather have a real AC cobra. Those replicas are fast but on cape cod they are a dime a dozen.

I don't have a good feeling about making a deal for the gt500 tomorrow. If it goes the way I think it will they can make $10k profit on me.

You should do it... Especially since it is a weekend or 2nd car. I guarantee you won't miss the $10K while you are stomping on the throttle... although I would start working out your cheeks in order to get them in shape for the constant ear to ear grin you will have while driving

you will get way more "Value" and enjoyment out of the GT 500 than the money...

They will make money off of you on this car, there's no doubt about it. If you're going into it thinking like this, you're probably not going to walk away with that car, which is fine if that's what you want. Liking money is not a bad thing. When I looked at the Raptor, I was looking at a huge hit to the wallet just based on it being a Raptor. I got my Platinum Tundra, with basically all of the same options as the Raptor, same sticker price (a little more after the step rails were added), but paid about $8k less because I worked through USAA and bargained a little on my trade in, etc...

Like I said before, their "special models" are marked up and never sell for just sticker or less... I remember the 2013 Boss 302 that was on the showroom floor for a few days. Same thing. No chance of bargaining with that vehicle, and it's not much better than a standard GT.

I absolutely love the car it's just that I love being car debt free more. I'd save some more cash for about a year to have no financing but the car is stopping production any week now. That's my dilemma.

If the debt bothers you that much then save up and shop around next year, there is always something special available somewhere...Z/28 camaro, different special edition Mustang, M4 coming out...but I vote get the Shelby now, you won't remember a bit of interest paid now after a couple of years of fun with that monster!
