My advice: unless money and time is not a factor, just pay the ticket. My experience, as others have mentioned, is that the judge is totally swayed by the cop. With all the people trying to get out of their tickets, the judge becomes jaded. It's sad, because the judge is suppose to be unbiased and a servant of the people.

it's all B.S. I dealt with something simular when I flew by a cop who was traveling on the other side of the road. There is no way he "clocked me" going the speed he said I was going but pulled me over because it looked like I might be traveling fast (probable cause?)Gave me a ticket regardless. If I was you I would fight it...I didn't -- and I def should have.

Reminds me of Shawshank Redemption.

At the very least, whether you hire a lawyer or not, make sure to show up on your court date. I got out of a ticket once because the copper didn't show. Ya never know.

Yeah there is no law that say cops must or must not show you the reading from the radar gun.

However, when did he get you, before of after leaving McDonald, he could have been using moving radar so he could have followed you down the road.

But if you want to educated yourself on fighting a ticket go this site http://www.radardetector.net they can help. Most all tickets are winnable, assuming a few things, first you never admitted anything to the cop, most people loose in courts by their own words. Next and probably the most important if the judge is fair and willing to listen

Most offend judge do not listen because most people walk in with excuses and do not have case. However, you prepare yourself and show the judge you have a clue and prepare a good case they usually listen.

you must have one good fucking lawyer lol. The fact that he told me he used a radar, and on the ticket the radar check is not marked, i might be able to build my case on that.

You can pay the lawyer, hope you win, and not have to pay the ticket.

You can pay the lawyer, lose the case, and then pay the ticket.

Or you can plead 'no contest', pay your reduced ticket fee and do traffic school to remove your violation point from your lisence.

Either way, you're going to pay.
