Yes, it's going to be RWD. That's one of the first confirmed details of this car.
It looks like a Celica humped a G6, though.

Someone needs to make a cheap and reliable RWD car with MT and LSD.
If this car has that and is tune-able...all the better. Frankly, I never was a huge fan of Hyundai's...but if the recipe is right, I could see myself getting one as a daily driver. Edit: Some may argue that a base Mazda RX-8 is that car...but I ended up with a LSD-less 325i instead. Besides the RX-8 is neither reliable (several engine recalls already) and economical (drinks gas and oil). I was thinking about this the other day...in Canada, VW sells the previous generation Golf and Jetta for a cheaper price alongside the new generation Golf (Rabbit) and Jetta. I would think other manufacturers should get into this. They save on development costs by using a slightly older design and this means a cheaper car for the consumer. Think about it...if Toyota re-released the previous generation Lexus IS (which IMHO looked quite nice) as a Toyota Altezza in North America...with a slightly redesigned front and rear (to distinguish it from the Lexus IS), tweaked in a sportier suspension, keep the RWD, have a cheaper interior (to cut costs), manual transmission, LSD and a gutsy 2.5 litre 4 cylinder or reworked 6 cylinder engine...and sell it starting at $25,000 (or at least below the $30,000 mark) or so...I think people would love it as a daily driver. Of course...who knows if that would be possible...but a boy can dream. |

Yeah, it just always seems like there's a downfall. With BMWs, it's no LSD. With Hyundais, was not enough power, now it's somewhat ugly, getting heavier, and I can guarantee the clutch will have a chatter issue. RX-8s, you listed the problems. Other cars have most of the items you listed: cheap, reliable, MT, LSD, RWD, powerful; but it seems like none have all.
