I kinda have a hard time believing this because, for example, Car & Driver and others got the Z06 at 11.5 @ 127.
So how does this guy run 10.8 stock? That is a HUGE difference!

Just look at maxboost, terry and some others. They have been able to pull much quicker times they most, why, because they are great drivers who know how to handle their cars. If a person from C&D who's never driven the car before can pull a 11.5 @ 127, just think what a person who owns the car, drives it all the time and knows exactly how it handles can do. We just saw it. |

since when?? They are plenty of cars that run in the 10's or lower at speeds below 150.
a CC8 does the 1/4 in 10.05 @ 135, the CCR does it in 9.1 @ 146, Enzo's have made 10.8 runs @ 135, Ford GT at 10.9 @ 132, Veyron's @ 10.4 @ 139. If your trapping 150, you're probably in the 8's. |

with some people I may question it but not this guy, he's on the level. Besides, not's even remotely crazy to think a driver can make a half a second difference in times which is all we're talking about in this case. We see that kind of difference between times of similar cars on a regular basis.

His arms must be part of a human dual clutch tranny or something. He must be shifting lightning fast and at just the right point.

Half the drivers who own z06's can't even shift properly. My buddy does his in 11 and hes a fairly good driver. But damn 10! Nice. |

CGT's are usually driven on the 'Ring or some other big racetrack. A CGT will destroy the Z06 at the track (stock for stock). But its not built to be a drag car really, while the LS7 is pretty much the ultimate drag 1/4 mile engine. Also, pure power to weight is not the only factor that plays into 1/4 mile times. Gearing plays a huge role, tires, etc. But most importantly, driver. |

You guys forget something very important - atmospheric conditions. My IS350 (which is auto so you can't screw up) ranges anywhere from 13.228 to 13.9 depending on ATMOSPHERIC conditions. 90 and humid vs. 36 degrees and kinda dry. I believe that 10 second run was at MIR on a cold day, high pressure. The DA is wayyyy below sea level. I'm not in any way putting down the awesome achievement, but I don't think a stock Z06 can do 10's at STP.

It's stock, and that car has hundreds of passes on it. I think it's the same guy who ran 11.8s in a C5 Z06 as well. He's a good driver and he ran those times on a bone stock C6 Z06 and people have verified it, no need to doubt it. Lots of other cars can run 10s stock, but the drivers of those cars won't drive them that hard. I haven't seen many CGTs at the track powershifting their way into the 10s, and I'm sure it's easily possible. Magazines always run crap 1/4 mile times. A decent driver can usually shave a couple tenths of magazine times. Good drivers can often shave off more than half a second.
150 traps on 10 second runs? Maybe a very low 10 second run with bad traction... 150mph traps are way in the 9s.

Just look at the trap speed. If the car and driver boys hooked up, then they'll get low 11's for sure. High 10's for someone really good at dragging (it seems).

Well.....someone finally took the title from Ranger. I am honestly shocked, I didn't see anyone doing it on stock tires. Absolutely UNBELIEVABLE!
Two thumbs up for him!! |

Yes, it's showroom stock. Tires, rims, rugs, mats, spare tires, jack, everything was in the car at sale stock. You can't get more stock. LOL. I'm also 190 pounds. Tires were not deflated - they were at 37 PSI (stock) and were Dunlop Sportmaxx. Air filter is over 20K miles old too and stock. Only the oil filter and oil are not stock - it's some 10 minute oil change crap oil filter and Mobil 1 oil. I've been doing some research at it appears that all IS350's can do about 13.3 stock. I did 13.2 because of good temps that day. In addition, my car is older - got it late 2005 so the engine is more broken in too.

I'm in debt! It funny, it seems all the guys living in apartments driving real nice cars have alot more disposable income than me. It makes me rethink what the american dream is... surely isn't living in CA (esp the bay area).
But thanks Junwoni for the ego stroke! |
