We have similar wind farms here. I've been wondering if a long exposure shot would yield a good "prop blur" to show motion.

Tons of complaints around here about them. Not so much the view, but the noise. Those living near them say the noise is disturbing and always present.

Good time to test its high-ISO performance. How is the noise at ISO 1600?
I love the results I see from the Sony sensors, but their big lenses are somewhat limited and crazy expensive. Dave

Another shot from Saturday morning:
Incoming... Mallards on final approach. Those blotches of white and blue in the bokeh are snow patches on the Rocky Mountains.

^^^Nice shot, DC. I'm impressed with the AF tracking on birds coming practically right at you.

You can't see it here, but if you click on the image and go to Flickr to see it full-screen, then you might see that the lead drake's head is actually OOF. He's on a plane just ahead of the others. It's compressed perspective here, so it looks like he's only inches ahead, but he was leading from several feet ahead. I had enough light to drop f-stop to f/8 or maybe even f/11, but I didn't think to do it. Dave

The files are pretty nice to deal with, but I admit to being biased toward Canon files after years of experience with them. The size of the body and it's adaptability to my existing selection of glass is enticing though. |
