I was scrutinizing the E60 and couldn't find the fake. I was about to say "looks legit to me!" Then I saw it.

I've seen this car in the body shop in UK. I thought it's a genuine M8 but seems it's just the M8 wannabe. Don't understand why would you spend so much money on interior, bumpers etc just to pretend… if you just like the looks of the M8 then be it, just do not pretend being one, those M8 badges look silly… even though it's very loud, it has straight pipe all the way, no muffler nothing

The only thing that they didn't do is replace the M850i shifter, otherwise they spent so much money, they could have probably just bought an M8.

I wouldn't debadge it. I love seeing legit bmw models and knowing some push more power then others. I love my 2021 540 and would never want others to think it was a 530. Not hating on 530s at all but just saying. When I see a nice looking 550 or m5 it puts a smile on my face.
So if you have the X5 50i I would leave as is. It's nice looking and fast and earned its respect.
