Disclaimer: I'm by no means an expert and I would take my opinion with a grain of salt. Just getting into trying more and more Whiskeys. Haven't tried Japanese whiskey in the past so wanted to give it a go. |

I just got 4 of them yesterday. I have had the single barrel BP store pick for a few months and it has a distinctly Texas taste (not like other stuff I have) but overall I enjoy it and like it. It is nice for a switch up from the normal.
I did open the Brimstone last night and had some, I will need to revisit for a good review as I got a little of the smoke but not a lot, and just not a whole lot going on otherwise which surprised me. I will probably try the true blue tonight as I hear great things about their blue corn whiskey.

^ niice 👍
Been cutting back on whiskey as the weather got warmer. Wondering how long I have until they start deteriorating (most bottles are half full). Don’t wanna force myself to finish them all. Every few weeks I wet the cork per Whiskey Vault. |

Also depends on the goal lol. If I'm trying to catch a buzz, thats usually a weekend affair instead of my one or two drinks during a week.

I can definitely go without drinking. I don’t do it often. Usually only socially or when I’m bored sitting at home. |

Like he said, it depends on the person. If I am just casually drinking I will do 5 or 6 pours, if I am doing a tasting with friends it is usually in the double digits.

Cedar ridge single barrel rye finished in port barrels, very reminiscent of midwinter nights dram, but I might like it even more.
Paired with a Viaje scotch bonnet, wonderful smoke.

My oldest's tastes are improving. I guess it's me and Johnny for Father's Day
Yes, I had a wee bit right off the top of the bottle. I like there is smoke, but not a full on brush fire.

Macallan is smoother and sweeter because of sherry cask. The Chivas is good on its own. Did a whiskey tasting at a local place few days ago with some friends and also tried Dalwhinnie 15 which I also liked. Will get that and Macallan 12 next time I go to Total Wine

Just did my annual Vermont run to catch the sale prices on Ardbeg. Makes for a great excuse to make another run through the ADK, and I end up saving about $100 over NY pricing. The 'local' VT store isn't very big, so after about a decade of this, they know me by name and are great about getting in some of the rarer stuff if I ask ahead. Trying some of the GOT collection this time too.
