That's the first direct evidence I've seen of cars being shipped out of Altamira, good find! At first, I was going to wonder if it was parts and not cars, but it clearly says vehicles.

Now I wonder if there's any ship that would visit Altamira without visiting Veracruz.

The Cardinal transported 1171 vehicles based on xiven's finding from importinfo.com. And based on baron95's math, there are 3000 cars ready to transport to the East Coast now. By the end of October that number will climb to 5,000 East Coast cars. Does anyone know the capacity of the vehicle carriers? I see a few articles with numbers ranging from 5500-8000.

Oh it transported more than 1171 BMWs. That was just what was scanned in at Brunswick. Keep in mind that ship kept going up the east coast and dropped off more cars at NE ports.

Who plans on tinting their M2? The front is illegal in NJ so I’m just doing the back… anyone have any places to recommend in the area?

Depending where in NJ you are, I went to Menards in Warminster (https://menardpremiumdetailing.com/) with my Supra for tint and PPF and it was good and took care of me. I'll be going back with my M2 for tint and high impact PPF.

They also offer ceramic coating and other stuff too. Though its not cheap.

Tint: $300 for all windows (not windshield or sunroof)

I was thinking abt doing 80% ceramic tint all around, including windshield.

That is the lightest “tint” and more of an UV/Infrared blocker. Not sure if it is technically illegal in CT/NJ but it’s fine here all the time, as it is not really tinting per se. Just a comfort and interior preservation option. Looks good also.

Glovis Sky left Altamira this morning and is in route to Baltimore. It was in port for a few days at least. It was not a quick pick up. Anyone know where it is going after that? Not seeing it coming to Brunswick within the next 15 days.

Going to do 20% windows and rear. CT legal limit is 35% but the cops don’t really care here. I use a local guy in Norwalk

Just got this guys, sad news with anyone adding a spoiler at Port. Email was dated today. Has anyone noticed any issues with the spoiler? Clear coat issues? Weave?

Bummer. I have ZC9 on my build. Is the email saying your dealer will remove it from the build or BMW AG will?

You can use the Chrome trick to see if it is still on your options list.

Been chatting with a guy on FB that just took delivery of his car yesterday in S. FL. He said his production date was 7/11 and his car was on the Glovis Cardinal too. So there must have been quite the backlog of cars that have been sitting for awhile. I'm trying to find out which port it was shipped from.

Removed from build, no chrome trick needed. Looked at mybmw website.

My M2 was completed on Oct 9. Is there any chance it made it on to the Glovis Sky? My port is Baltimore because my dealer is DC area.

What's the next ship that might pick up and head to Baltimore?

I got the same note from my dealer. My car got to the VPC last week, I was hoping I got it before this, but now when I check on mybmw it looks like it's been removed from my build. Argh.

The only schedules I could find with Glovis Sky are outdated.

I get the feeling something is up at the Veracruz port. I would not be surprised if our cars shipped from Altamira port. They have so much vessels carriers expected but nothing at Veracruz with so many builds pending delivery. It’s not a sale until delivery is made. Something is not adding up

Both Veracruz and Altamira are reporting just 1 day delay in their congestion reports. (the only port reporting very high delays in Guaymas at 13 days).

The following are the only stops I can confirm. But with it being the last ship dropping off BMWs on the East Coast and just returning, and seeing the schedule for the following month which also shows the same course.

I think all these public tracking sites and port schedules all have incomplete info. For instance I just pulled the Ro-Ro arrival vessel schedule for Altamira from the Port Operator website and it does not even show the Glovis Cardinal arriving.

Until some of us start getting loaded on a ship, we'll not likely know for sure.
