All this time I had no idea they were from Glasgow, Scotland. I also was unaware of their punk start with Johnny & The Self-Abusers. Interesting to me...I'm guessing you all knew this and I'm the only one that didn't.

Some other trivia about Simple Minds; the singer, Jim Kerr, was at one time married to Chrissie Hynde from the Pretenders.
