We had an extremely light dusting of snow overnight that only stuck to the cars. There were more light flurries around mid-morning, and some wet snow/rain showers just after noon.....

First snow of the season is blowing in tomorrow to the Lake Isabella area, and we haven't closed up the cabin for the winter. Guess who is driving 3 hours each way to drain the water and pour anti-freeze into the traps?
But wait, there is a lake at the bottom of the hill, and the lake is known to have fishes, so . . .

We've been having very light snow flurries for a few hours now, with the temp currently reading 33.5 F at Chez Vreihen.
On my drive to work today, I noticed that a shallow wetland pond (more like a large puddle) was starting to skin over in ice. Hockey season isn't far away.....

Not sure if I'm getting acclimatized to the cold this early in the year but it feels almost like shorts weather today... Looking forward to a high of 9C (48F) and sunny this aft.

We were up on the Blue Ridge Parkway outside Asheville, NC this afternoon, where it was clear and very dry with 62°F and 15% humidity. It was a perfect day for enjoying long-range views of the mountains in every direction.

Same here: Record-setting rainfall amounts, leading to localized flooding. At least the temps have risen to the 40s.

We're under a flood watch for tonight here in upstate NY, with 2-4 inches of rain in the forecast. Lawn Guyland and CT are facing 3-5 inches of rain...with 6+ possible.
A line of morning thunderstorms moved over our SC tree farm about an hour ago, dropping almost 1.5 inches of rain according to my remote weather station.....

We've experienced that more than once. It was always in the late spring. We'd have still-frozen ground and inches of wet snow would fall and then a few inches of rain would follow. Our steep, unpaved road was generally unpassable for a few days afterwards.
We were always grateful for the modern weather forecasting that enabled us to plan ahead.

Mostly cloudy and cool this week. Highs are in the low to mid 70s. Nights are not too bad. Was about 53°F for my walk last night; jacket weather.
