What’s wrong with the Pirellis?
I know the answer will be the “Michelins are better”, but what’s inherently wrong with them?

Couple of notes though: I ordered Red Brake calipers and got Blue... (spec sheet even shows red on order sheet), and I lost the tire lottery and received Pirelli's unfortunately.

Did they discount the car for u or offer to change breaks to red ?

We’re in south Florida, it rains continuously here. Pirellis are not nearly as good as Michelins at expelling water and preventing hydroplaning, also road noise is a bit higher, and overall grip isn’t as good as Michelins as well.

Neither. They said I could just turn down the car and order another. They knew I wouldn’t do that.

Absolutely nothing. Pirellis are great tires. Not knocking the Michelins - awesome tires - but I would wager many wouldn't know the difference if not for the name on the sidewall. For majority street & occasional track, unless you're racing or trying for Best Time Ever & you can drive to take advantage - you ain't gonna notice sh!t. Run the Pirellis out & if you hated 'em, get the Michelins.

Case in point - took my F87 to the track & the instructor riding with me, who is a prof race car driver & instructor, quips, "Holy smokes, your car has some serious grip! These the new Michelins?"

Nope - they were the Continental Sport Contacts.

My car is en route to Bremerhaven right now, I’m hoping to get it 17th June onwards. I’d like the Michelins because I had them on the Supra and no complaints. But for the way I’m going to drive the M2 it seems that the P Zeros will be fine.

This is purely from personal experience. Michelins on the z06, pirellis on the M5, Michelins on the Wrx and more experience from past cars I’ve owned.

Of course this is just an opinion, but it’s not just from the top of my head either.

Yeah. These unexpected stops (Davisville and now Philly) are making it hard. I pinged by CA this morning for an updated ETA since his system originally said Baltimore on 05/20.

Called Genius as my car should have been dropped off in Bayonne/NYC. They can’t tell me anything, it’s not even showing as processed. Assuming my CA would have the same details?

I'm in the same situation. Website still showing the car "In Transit". I am guessing they didn't process cars over the weekend in NJ and hoping that status changes today

Same here, as is another member I've been chatting with whose car was also on GS and dropped off at NJ. I think there's a pretty big backlog of cars that need to be processed from this run, so it might take a little while for that to happen, and I wouldn't be surprised if the tracker status stays on "In Transit" until they are officially processed at the VPC.

If I hear anything from my CA, I'll post here as well. I asked him to let me know when my car is done at the VPC and on a truck.

Nope - they were the Continental Sport Contacts.

My i4 has the Pirelli but when these wear out, I'm switching to Conti. Conti makes great tires. Quiet, great grip and treadwear.

The little beastie's status flipped to at the port after I saw the Glovis Sun dock in NY Sunday. Now the MP HAS kit gets installed and then off to the dealer!!

I'm am as excited as a little kid at 11:59:59:30 PM Xmas Eve.

Anybody else that was on the Sun get a status flip today??

Yes I got the update as well. Now we wait and see how long the HAS takes to get installed. Dealer told me 2-3 days but other forum members have said weeks.

Just cross your fingers and hope for the best. My HAS install only took like 2 days.

Just got an update from bmw genius that my car that is on the ship that departed Sunday and expected arrive in Oxnard this Saturday and another week to dealer.

This might jus be the fastest order to delivery. Sheesh.

Car was ordered 4/23 and expected us port arrival 5/25!!!!!!!
