Glad to see you guys are on the move. Called Genius yesterday and they still have no idea when mine will leave port.

We're not actually on the move as yet, it's merely optimistic speculation on my part.

However what's happened in both our cases is that once production was complete the expected delivery date has come forward from June to May. My assumption is that the only logical reason for that is because that's the plan. Now obviously assumption is the mother of all foul-ups etc but I can't see any other reason why the dates would have come forward if there was no way of physically getting them to the UK by those dates. Ergo there's a reasonable chance our cars are booked to go on the sailings I listed.

If yours is at the docks and ready to go then there's also a reasonable chance it will go on the same ship and be offloaded at Baltimore (as I desperately try and remember the geography of the Eastern US!).

No doubt real life events and the mysterious workings of BMW logistics will conspire to make all of that and me look totally ridiculous but, on paper at least, it seems to make sense - well to me anyway!

Anyone know when dealers receive allocations each month? I want to know when to pester them again…

Just wanted to share my experience with ordering m240i.
I'm a happy owner of X2, which is almost 4 years old so far. Decided to pick something new, and when saw M240i I felt in love with it. Sadly, do dealer had any to test drive, but I was able to drive 230i and was surprised how good the car is!
Decided to order it with my usual dealer on March 1st. They told they would get allocation from BMW rep mid-March. As usually at that dealer - they didn't. I was trying to push them couple of times, was following up, but they were not telling me if they got allocation or not. So I decided to go to a different dealer on Apr 7th. The said they had no allocation, but they would pull it from a different dealer for me. I fell for that and left another deposit and was happily driving to my old dealer to get a refund. The old dealer told that new dealer is lying and they have nothing, but I insisted and request a refund. 10 Minutes I left the old dealer - new dealer called and gave me a production number! I was so happy! 5 minutes further I got a call from old dealer's sales manager telling they got another production number! I still don't understand why they didn't do that for 6 weeks... Anyhow, I refused old dealer and took my deposit back.

Same day I added production number to BMW MyGarage and saw my new baby.

On Apr 20th I got the update 'Scheduled for production'. Called BMW Genius and they confirmed production week #20 (May 15-19th).

I'm so happy to be part of the G42 family now, folks!

Pushed back my detailing appointment. I'm really hoping those of us on that next US ship see some kind of movement within the next couple weeks.

It's kinda like going to a busy restaurant and putting your name on the waitlist. The host will give you an estimate as to how long it'll take to get a table but, it's not a guarantee and they may be talking out their ass in an effort to get you to stay. Some people are able to scoot right in (it pays to know the right people) and some have to wait for the right size table to open up. Eventually, your name will be called and you'll get a seat, get your order placed, and enjoy it once it arrives.

I had to wait 6 months between putting my deposit down, order being received by BMW, until the dealer got an allocation to put my order into production. Was fortunate to go from the factory to a ship within a week, took delivery of the car NYE day of this past year. Every time I get in the car and step on it, it makes me grin like an idiot. It was worth the wait.

I’ve been in Ready for Transport for about three weeks. This morning it jumped to In Transit, skipping Awaiting Carrier Assignment, Dispatched from Factory, and At the Port. Actually on the Virgo Leader, which appears to have arrived at the port in Long Beach today. Obviously they don’t do a very good job updating the website, but still happy to see the progress.

That's interesting. I've been in Ready for Transport since 4/2 and I would expect that based on our location and similar timeline we would be on the same ship but maybe not.

Man, I wish you could get a short video of it being assembled. That would be really cool.

I thought the same exact thing. They could do it easily if they wanted to.

I bought a very high-end guitar several years ago were they let you go to the factory pick out the wood and watch it be put together it’s made me love it that much more.

I play a little. That sounds cool. Care to define “high end guitar”? I’m guessing a small boutique maker. Definitely not Gibson!

A PRS custom with dragon inlay. Back when they were a boutique maker. Long before they blew up. I am from Maryland not far from where they are made Paul was a guitar tech at my local guitar shop.

We just very recently decided to explore trading hubby’s 21 Mustang GT for a 240. On Monday found one in a pretty perfect spec for us (BSM & 791M jet black, loaded except for adaptive cruise and ZTK) at a local dealer that showed In Production on dealer site and was not an active customer order or already reserved. Had VIN from dealer site so I checked BMW site and saw status of Dispatched from factory. Went Tuesday and put a deposit down. Later that day status changed to At the port. Wednesday showed In transit, but dealer gave me the ship info that also has BOL so I was able to see that it actually arrived in Galveston on Wallenius Wilhelmsen Torino ship Monday and was discharged from ship yesterday morning. Hoping VPC not too backed up and that it will get to Dallas next week. Hubby still not 100% sure since we have to make such a quick decision whether to go ahead after it arrives at dealer. I purchased a 23 8 series in December (off the chain, btw). We’ve always loved BMW, but he loves his Mustang too and is afraid he’ll regret getting rid of it. And yea, I know, 3rd world problems .
