Next mod/addition for this firearm will likely be either a SureFire X300U weapon light, or I'll send it down to Johnnyglocks.com for his custom trigger. It kinda depends on what I do first... buy a new holster that will accommodate the light; or I go a couple weeks without the pistol. We'll see.
I love my GEN5 G17 with my Surefire X300 as my primary. I also have the STI Stacatto P2011, Ruger LCP9, GEN4 G43, Remington Tactical and Mossburg 590M, COLT M4 Carbine 556.

Anyone following the ATF decision on the honey badger? It won't be good for anything with a pistol brace if that holds up

I'm following it. Sort of. Something about length of pull then something about the worded it as a stock on their website. I'm going to have to get the measurements and look.

The good thing is ATF sent the letter to Q and not SB who made the stock.
Q will win this.

We'll see. Q never got an ATF ruling on their brace, whereas SB Tactical did, and SB generally seems to have a tighter legal team. That said, if anyone thought the ATF wouldn't eventually try to do something about the brace loophole... I disagree 100% with the SBR limitation/tax stamp requirement, but the brace thing has been too good to be true (long term).

In the meantime, it might be a good time to buy some AR pistols while you can. IF the status changes, you can then decide if you want to quietly enjoy your gun, or submit a form 1, or whatever. But at least you have options.

(mild plug: Horizon Arms Research has plenty of AR pistol setups in 5.56 and .300 blackout so feel free to reach out! )

MP5?!?!!!!!? That makes me all happy squishy inside.

I almost bought one 20 years ago when they were only $10,000. I really wish I had, but that seemed like a huge amount of money for just one gun. Now I kick myself when I think about it.

Which version did you get? Straight MP5, MP5K, SD, something else?

Straight MP5. Will probably change the forearm and add a mount for a red dot but that's it. I did buy one back in 2001. One week before 9/11. That one cost $8,000. It took over 14 months before the ATF/FBI cleared it for transfer. No problem they were busy chasing terrorists.

I hate to admit how much I just paid. Think what a 2021 330i lists for and you aren't far off.

Now of course finding quality ammo to feed it at a fair price is also a problem. But I like a challenge. LOL

Makes me feel better about my purchase yesterday then hahah just got a Sig Sauer M400 tread pistol. Plan to eventually file for a SBR
Debated this or the Springfield Saint victor pistol but the cheaper price, longer barrel and carbine length gas system(instead of pistol length) won me over. Plus the ambi controls

Most definitely. I had the itch and finally picked up a pre-64 Winchester last year. It's one of my favorite guns. The metal butt pad left my shoulder sore for a couple days after the first trip out, but it was worth it.

Yeah, my brother just picked up a GSG 16 with an MP5 conversion kit...so it's sort of like you both have MP5's now.....right? Right?

LOL, I'd love to shoot a real MP5. Especially full auto.

He just picked the GSG up because it is dirt cheap and be used for plinking, we're taking it out to the woods when I visit him end of this month.

I don't know what a GSG 16 is, but if it's cool then it's cool.

I feel fortunate that I live in a place and time where I can still own something like a real MP5. Few places in the world allow private ownership of weapons like that. And I'm lucky to have the money to do it.

Lol, no, it's not cool. It's probably about $500. Whereas yours is expressed in multiples of that price.

I haven't seen it, but I'm guessing it looks like this:

Little jealous of you right now, I'll be honest.
