I think every team would like another 30 goal scorer...

He is definitely effective at getting under people's skin - just some of the stuff he does is reckless and never punished. He effectively horse collared Williams yesterday - a play that has been banned in other leagues because of how dangerous it is. But he will face no discipline for it. Not fighting when challenged about his antics is pu$$y. The licking thing in the past was disgusting... that kind of stuff.

I understand your POV and bias... I see where Boston fans (and Marchand) are coming from. He's doing it on purpose to get the other team off their game - and he's effective at it.

But I do think the NHL needs to reign it in a bit.

No, I agree with you, and if he wasn't on my team, I'd hate him. That horse collar was ridiculous and I was actually hoping he got fined for it because someone's career could be ended with crap like that. The licking thing is over the top. But he is talented, and I'm glad he's on the Bruins. The NHL does need to start reviewing and taking actions after these games though, with everyone, not just Marchand.

That was bad. Real bad. Worse than Vegas series bad.

Apparently with the current rules, that play was not reviewable. Since all four refs missed the hand pass... the goal stands without the ability to go upstairs (Toronto) for video review.

Guessing that rule is changed immediately, this off season.

So....Rule 38.4(ix) allows the league to "assist the referees in determining the legitimacy of all potential goals (e.g. to ensure they are 'good hockey goals'). For example (but not limited to), pucks that enter the net by going through the net meshing, pucks that enter the net from underneath the net frame, pucks that hit the spectator netting prior to being directed immediately into the goal, pucks that enter the net undetected by the referee, etc.

This could have been stretched to make the correct call - they chose not to.

With Boston winning last round, I'll win my pool if St.Louis advances. Okay - not a ton, but some douchebag just did a hit an run on my car in the parking lot. So daddy needs a new front end.

Sharks no-call was awful. I hope they get revenge and win the series because of it. Would love to see the Sharks/Bruins final anyway. Bruins are gonna be bored the next week... Hopefully they can maintain themselves with inter-squad scrimmages until the final. I feel like it could potentially either be a huge benefit or huge detriment to have the week off that they are getting.

Bruins are going to be swept in the finals. It will be the first time a team has swept another team only to be swept themselves since it happened to Carolina way back in 2019.
