Hey baron, just out of curiosity are you out of 165 and now “awaiting carrier assignment” or whatever?

Hey All - new to the group and very closely monitoring my car's status and stumbled across this thread.
My car's production date was 9/22 (on the tail end of week 38), entered "Final Assembly" 9/23, and has been in the "Ready for Transport" stage since 9/29. It is a bit frustrating to know that I probably missed getting my car now or very shortly by one day, seeing as other week 38er's cars have arrived. Every day counts as I live in Iowa (POA is Baltimore) and pretty soon the roads will be covered with salt and grit and slush until next March. So, on to the shipping conversation. This is this third BMW I've ordered and tracked and I can say that this step has never had this much uncertainty. My '15 M235i sat at Bremerhaven for 10 days, and my i4 M50 for 3 days before departing. MyGarage was mostly accurate so I had a very good idea of where things stood. I've been following boats that are leaving from Veracruz, arriving in Baltimore. I was super hoping my car was on the Morning Chorus that left Veracruz 10/5 and Altamira 10/14, then Baltimore today, but I've lost hope on that. Bravery Ace arrives at Veracruz 10/19 and then arriving in Baltimore 10/26, and then back to Veracruz 11/1. Toronto arrives in Veracruz 10/29 and then has a number of stops before arriving in Baltimore 11/11. If my car doesn't get on one of those boats, then I have no idea what's going on at Veracruz. Has anyone gotten anywhere with tracking VINs or BOLs with any of these shipping lines? |

Try to email the Genius. They seem to put a bit more effort into the emails.

The thing with cars coming from Germany is that there is a ton (actually several thousands of tons) of vehicles flowing in each direction. X3/4/5/7 from US to Europe and 4/5/7/X1/X2/M (and until recently 2/3 series flowing back Europe to US. So the ships are full both ways. The issue with Mexico is that cars go mostly one way (Mexico to US/Europe) so the RoRos run a lot less frequently. They batch them up, then ship them. I've seen a lot of crazy routes. Mexico->US-Europe->US->Mexico for example to minimize mostly empty ship movement. When I started this process, I naively thought that my car being built in Mexico would mean faster delivery than M3/M4 coming from Germany. Wrong.

My car went in transit this morning and arrived at the dealership this afternoon in MA. For reference, prod date was 2023-09-19
Now just paperwork tomorrow and then go from there. |

On another note, Glovis Cardinal is now at Altamira, but it's anchored. I guess it needs to prep before the next trip. Fingers crossed Another horse to place bets on is the RCC Shanghai which is arriving in Altamira on Oct 21, then heading up the East Coast, Tampa on Oct 28th, Brunswick on Oct 29, and Philadelphia on Nov 1. I hit "Ready for Transport" on the 14th. Hopefully doesn't take that long to get put on a ship. Mine's supposed to be heading to the Performance Center for delivery, would be nice to get it before the weather turns to shit.
