You're right - mine moved to 165 as well. If I recall correctly, your car finished on 6/19 and mine early on 6/20. Hopefully, we're both lucky enough to make that ship that hits port on 7/2. My experience with my 911 is keeping me from getting my hopes up too high though because that car sat for about 2 months after being built before it got on a ship at the port in Emden.

It would be pretty sweet to make the 7/2 boat but I’m more inclined to think we won’t, preparing for the worst, I guess.

The next steps shown in the app are awaiting carrier assignment and dispatched from factory. I’m not sure if that means however they ship it from the factory to the port, or if that’s the boat itself. Not inherently obvious what the difference between ready for transport and awaiting carrier assignment is…sounds like the same thing to me, heh.

Well the step currently shown is the completed step, is it not? The checkmark denoting that the step is complete. So I'm on Ready For Transport, but actually that's complete and I'm really awaiting carrier assignment.

I am also at status 165 since 6/22. Hoping to make that ship as well. Will see what happens. When I call genius they are telling me that the car is being transported to the port while being at 165. I called Monday the 24th and was told this. So I’m unsure if my car is ready to leave the factory after being assigned a carrier or waiting at the port to be assigned a carrier. I also don’t know which port it would go to. Doing research and looks like it could possibly go to Veracruz or Altamira but most of the info I’m finding is Altamira. I’m in Houston so I would think it would go to their Galveston, tx distribution center. All speculation I guess till it actually happens. Just hoping the transportation goes like the assembly!!

I think there's an outside chance but it all depends on the number of vehicles waiting to get on that 7/2 ship. If there's more than enough to fill the ship then there's no chance - this my experience with Porsche and the Emden port but I suspect that port has a lot more vehicles go through it than LC so I'm clinging on to that slim bit of hope.

Does calling BMW's customer service result in any better info than we get by peeking at the data payload via the F12 dev tools in the browser?

I called BMW Genius and they told me it is still in transit to the port and has been since 6/17??? Over a week to go less than 200 miles to Altamira?

I have heard there is a lag between getting on the boat and your status updating. If you call BMW genius I think they can tell you, otherwise after a couple days your status might update. My point is, you might actually be on the boat but it hasn’t updated yet.

Called genius this morning, they weren't able to provide anything more helpful than my vehicle hasn't been assigned to a boat yet even though it's been ready for transport since 6/8. Gut feeling is the Glovis Solomon is not going to be the one for me.

From past experience that's often the case. But my experience was mostly last year. Things can change.

I just called Genius and based on what I heard, that's entirely possible. She confirmed my car is between the factory and the port and probably won't have another update until it's been assigned a carrier or is actually on a ship. Also, the time at port is unpredictable and will probably depend on which holding lot the car ends up in at the port and if that's a lot they're emptying to load the next ship.

All that said and since our cars seem to have been built within a day of each other, there's still an outside chance our cars make it onto that ship getting to port on 7/2 but if not, we could be in for a wait of several weeks.

I've gone down the shipping rabbit hole, and it looks like the only carrier that BMW uses out of Lazaro Cardenas is indeed NYK (I checked W&W and some others that BMW uses and none of them have routes that hit Lazaro Cardenas and Port Hueneme) Based off the NYK shipping schedule that someone else was kind enough to provide a link to, there are three boats that we could get on:

Pluto Leader -- Arrives in Lazaro Cardenas on 7/2, arrives in Hueneme on 7/7.
Helios Leader -- Arrives in Lazaro Cardenas on 7/21, arrives in Hueneme on 7/23, then circles back and hits Hueneme again on 7/28. (A stop in Long Beach in between...not sure why)
Eridanus Leader -- Arrives in Lazaro Cardenas on 8/12, arrives in Hueneme on 8/14, then again on 8/17 after hitting Long Beach and coming back.

Same for me. Still at the port, but my dealer says they should get it in a couple of days
