I'm assuming tabarnzo@gmail.com meant the Grand Ruby gets to Baltimore on July 8th - a couple days before NY on July 11th.

I am a genius , I would look up your car but I cant access it, but yes grand Ruby will go up the east coast most likely Georgia, Baltimore, then NY. Hopefully those ports arent packed and the boat can get in and out quickly, its currently anchored in Altamira so itll likely be on the move soon.

Anyone know when the next boat is expected in Veracruz? Tired of seeing all these ships leave without my dang car on it. Still sitting in Final assembly, full 30 days now...hoping it's on the next?

You didn't reach Ready for Transport yet, so you wouldn't get on a boat yet.

Well this week is finally the week. On Wednesday 5th July, all being well, and a mere 8 months and 8 days after I placed the order, I shall finally be picking up my M240. To be honest the way this dragged on made me lose enthusiasm for the whole thing but now I'm quite excited again.
I won't need to demonstrate my technical incompetence by attempting to post pictures because it's Brooklyn Grey and we've already seen loads of those! Oh and I saw my first ever G42 M240 in the wild on Thursday. A Portimao blue one parked in Guildford town centre.

My car has now been in quality check, code 155, for 36 days with no info on when it might move along. Due to some upcoming life events I may have to drop out of the race and purchase something else. Wife and I have been sharing a car for months now but Ill need a vehicle by mid august when the kids head back to school so someone may be able to capitalize on my misfortune.

I've got it at last
Somewhat surprised to find the boot spoiler was black and not body colour. Probably as a result of me not paying attention to the blogs, news and fora but I'm sure my dealer guy (who wasn't there today) said it would be body colour. Initial impressions after two short-ish drives through London suburban traffic: IDrive 8 and the digital dash is somewhat of an information overload for someone used to an F82 with iDrive 6 and the mixed analogue/digital dash. It'll take a while to get used to it. Bit of a mixed start with the voice assistant. My success rate in waking it up with "Hey BMW" is about 10% and I had to use the steering wheel button most times. Must be my strange English accent. Once it's awake it seemed to do what I asked most of the time although I couldn't find a way of talking it into turning the Air Con off and leave the Climate Control on though. Just kept shutting the whole thing down and once asked if I wanted to set the nav system to get to the nearest Air Con company! Still my initial impressions are it is way better than its iDrive 6 incarnation. There are only 4 slots for short cuts. That is seriously poor imo given it's software and letting you have more ought to be easy. I was a bit taken a back by the external light controls. Again I'm used to a rotary switch with Auto, Off, Sides lights, Headlights and a button for the rear foglamp. Instead we have a little panel with about 7 buttons on it. What was all that about doing away with buttons? The old arrangement seems to me to be far more intuitive. The little gear shifter toggle thingy doesn't seem to me like a big deal having had to do a bit of manoeuvring to get off the dealers forecourt. Never had Auto Hold before and I love it already The acid test will be a longer run on faster roads but the infamous "wishy washy" steering seems way more precise that it was on my F32 and, around town anyway, arguably as good if not better than my F82. The ride in Comfort mode with adaptive suspension appears to be excellent. No squeaks or rattles or thumps (yet!) Haven't exactly had the opportunity yet to go hooning it from roundabout to roundabout but even with a relatively small amount of throttle away from the lights it just feels quick and effortless like an extended M family car should and you can tell it just wants to go. Already noticed people staring at it, more so than with my Sakhir Orange M4 which used to attract attention, which is a bit surprising Once I get my head round iDrive 8 and get it all set up how I want then I think it's going to be excellent.
