Wonder why they decided to cover up the grills again.

I think this size is perfect for the M2C, but the new one is not so far. The G series is grow in size and when I saw the M4 in person it reminded me of the X5. It's huge!

Don't believe that Porsche has a comparable hammer at this price point. Probably a more refined one, but not such a beast.

Oh yeah probably same concept. Lower powered version gets manual. Higher powered torque converter only.
IIRC, the reason why the G8x Competition/CP doesn't offer manual is because it exceeds the torque limit of the MT, thus they could only off the MT in the base (Pure) G8x model.

The current generation M2 CP engine is similar to the F8x base model, thus if this trend holds, then the G87 CP should have similar specs to the G8x base, hence there could be a MT offer for the G87 CP model. However, the G87 CS, when it comes out later will likely have similar engine to the G8x Competition, thus will not have MT.

Maybe this is what bmw says but it's not entirety accurate as the f06 manual had 680NM

The proportions look spot on and the size looks good. It's going to be a long one to year wait..

If the G87 M2 doesn't have the normal 2 series tail lights, this car may be a pretty big win in my book. Surely the front grill will look leagues better than the G80 M3 ever could.

What ears do you have?
In this vid with so much ambient noise I hear nothing. And never the difference between a Comp and CS!

Proportions look really good, does not have that hacked off rear end the old M2 did. If they fixed the handling on this car over the old M2 it may be a decent BMW.

I quite like the minimalist bumper, the regular 2 series bumper has so much going on that this is kinda refreshing. Anyone agree?

Agreed. I think it'll have a very nice final look, reminds me a lot of the E36 M3's front bumper. Hope the back is just as simple and clean.

Special ones.

I bet if one looks for a longer video from the same day, a AW Frankenstein F90 LCI makes an appearance and has the same exhaust note.

Are you suggesting hybrid?

.. I agree, the " no manual competition " is a business means of transitioning to the end of MT incrementally year by year.

Nope… just a special edition.

The end of that first vid gives a hint…it's MT. In the second vid, the TR G80 and Frankenstein90 appear and are related to the G87 of interest.
