Picked it up from PPF. While it was there they swapped the heritage badges, did the front reflector deletes, and tinted the windows. It has Xpel prime XR+ tint, 70% windshield and 30% on all other glass.

I need to move the license plate. They installed the bracket upside down and it's setting off my parking sensor.

Eventuris and AA full system are on the way. After that I'm holding off on more mods until next spring. I had some grand plans, but with the way the economy is going and the business I'm in, it's probably best to slow down for a little while. Sorry to those of you who were excited to see my turn this thing up to the moon.

The BSM paint looks almost like a dark grey here.

So not quite today, but yesterday….

Got break-in service completed and took a short road trip from Stuttgart to Ulm and back, just on the A8 to feel it out without fear of RPMs and max speed.

My short review…f’ing loved it.

I moved into the M2 from a 2021 base M3 and have no regrets.

For all those that hate the looks of the car - it’s subjective, I can stare at mine all day and never get tired of it. I love the fact that BMW is pushing the envelope on design and breaking away from what so many others have been copying from BMW for so long.

As far as performance goes, my old M3 was also a 6MT. This thing wants to explode if the line in first gear and feels a lot more playful and less stable than my M3 did at speed.

I can’t say that I have much to compare to as my car ownership experience is as follows:

1st - 1988 Subaru XT
2nd - 1987 Nissan 300ZX
3rd - 2004 Volvo S60 R
4th - Dodge 1500 XLT
5th - 2009 Jeep Compass Sport
6th - 1993 Jeep Wrangler Sport
7th - 2012 Subaru Outback
8th - 2014 Jeep Wrangler Willy’s
9th - 2014 Subaru Crosstrek
10th - 2017 Subaru Impreza
11th - 2018 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon
12th - 2021 BMW M3
Current - 2023 BMW M2

Sad day today. Turned my car in for shipping from Germany back to US. Won’t see it again for at least 6-8 weeks.

License plate mount

Installed the Sto n Sho license plate mount (don't have my plate yet). Uses attachment bolts already in place. Plate can be installed or removed in seconds by pulling the little ring on the side. It sets so far forward of the radiators I think it will have no effect on cooling; air will flow around it. Much better than the tow hook mount, IMO. Only for cars without the DA package.

Yellow DRLs

Finally got to install the yellow DRL kit I purchase from IND back in March. First side took over an hour, second about 35 minutes. Taking out the fender liners is not as difficult as it looks, just 12 ten mm screws. The circuit board is in the silver element above the radiator. The yellow doesn't show up too well in the overall photo, but it is pretty vivid to the eye.

IND's installation video was very helpful. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lYsoIvPrthc

This might be a winner if so! I was sure you needed to drill from underneath.
Yep, just unbolt and rebolt with the bracket in place, really easy and no drilling.

Only caveat is it does hinder your approach angle slightly. But worst case is you scrape your plate.

Yes it does, so could be removed with no trace.

Today I switched from Pirelli PZs on 963m to Michelin PS4s on 825m

Verdict: to early, I need to put a few break in KMs on the Michis but they feel like home as I've been so used to PS4s for years...

The rims, I love the 963s but also love the polished 825s combo with the Black... Tough choice on rims! Will make a final decision once I've got my springs and spacers as to which rim I stick with.

Nicely done!! I was getting pretty irritated the other day at how difficult it was to remove the damn thing! How can bmw go backwards with some details like this?

The panel is easy to remove if you fold the back seat and lift the edge of the panel by the seat.
