Still a bit jet lag from the early morning call-back. After my omelet this morning I've been munching on cheese and apples during the afternoon.

Friday pizza but I cheated... I forgot to take out the dough out of the freezer so I bought a frozen Four Cheese that I loaded with extra cheese and pepperoni.

Decided to try this place by the house. We came here when it had first opened and I recall being pretty disappointed. So much so we have not returned in years. Anyways decided to give it another shot tonight and it was an amazing turn around. Everything was fantastic. Drinks were good, my favorite part was the dried pears on top. Best ceviche I’ve had and a super tasty picanha with broccolini (came with some kind of mac and cheese, but trying to be low carb as best I can and those drink probably put me over already).

Maqluba, Palestinian rice and vegetables
Accompanied by yogurt, EVOO, za’atar spice mix and grilled pita

Maqluba is unbelievable. Basmati rice, potatoes, cauliflower, eggplant, green pepper, onions and tomatoes. Seasoned with cinnamon, allspice, turmeric, salt and pepper. This has earned itself a spot in our rotation.

Za’atar made with dried herbs and salt ground in a mortar and pestle. It should also include roasted and ground sesame seeds but I didn’t have any! Herbs include oregano, thyme, marjoram and sumac.
