Not sure if it applies to the M2, but my '23 X1 stopped at California VPC and was unloaded before being loaded onto a smaller ship and sent to Hawaii. Honolulu Harbor isn't big enough for the larger ships to dock and offload is what I was told. X1 also took a while before being delivered to the dealer as well, since BMW of Honolulu only gets deliveries twice a week and it didn't fit in the first haul.

Here are my notes on the shipping timetable, though my X1 was built in Germany, so factory to West Coast would be different. Also note that mine was probably delayed at the VPC due to it arriving over the holidays:

Awaiting Carrier Assignment: 10/28
Dispatched from Factory: 11/14
At the Port of Departure: 11/15
In Transit: 11/28
At the Port (West Coast): 12/21
VPC Inspection: 1/3

My ship arrived in Baltimore on 07/12 and the status flipped to ‘At the Port’ on 07/16 and has been sitting in this status since. I’m getting the MP HAS, MP Armrest and the dashcam port installed. I just called Genius and she advised it was supposed to leave to the dealer on the 20th but is still in the work order pending status and she didn’t have an exact timeline on when it’ll be done.

I’ll keep the thread updated on mine!

What is the final destination for the car? I live in Union county NJ and hoping to have my new G87 in hopefully 4-6 weeks.

Well, the little red beast has now arrived at BMW Port Jersey Vehicle Preparation Center. So it should really be soon now. They have to put in the Advanced Eye but that should not take long. Here is what I read about the Terminal: "when a car is driven off the vessel, it’s sent initially to the Pre-Delivery Inspection Center to examine various components for interior and exterior damages. If the vehicle’s structure received damage during the shipping process, depending upon the severity, the car goes to either the Quick Repair Center or the Heavy Damage Repair Center. If the vehicle sustains serious structural damage, the owner is notified, and a new car will be processed for them. After leaving the Pre-Delivery Inspection Center, the vehicle travels next to the Programming Center where technicians activate the advanced software used in today’s cars. For example, most modern automobiles have GPS, a surround-sound system and a touch-screen display – all of which need to be tested and activated before the car ships to the dealership."

So I am hoping that none of us end up in the Heavy Damage Repair Center! Meanwhile, still painting the garage so little red beast has a nice new home.

It seems like it delayed my car at Port Hueneme about 2 to 3 days compared to the other cars that were on the same ship.

I recently stopped in to BMW Honolulu to see the used ZB with Carbon Package, and was asking about ‘25 model year ordering. Sales guy said 3-4 months, individual paint 5-6 months.

What a coincidence! I test drove that manual ZB before deciding on moving forward with a M2. I had the option of ordering the MY‘25 but went with a ‘24 cause I really wanted the cognac interior. They told me about 3 months until delivery.

The new steering wheel and updated interior would have been nice too, but also got a bigger discount on the ‘24. I’ll probably lease it and get something else in a few years so it works for me 🤙🏼

Nice! I’m still locked in my lease till Dec ‘25, so won’t be ordering mine just yet. They did just get a Frozen Portimao in the other day though!

Ooh that is a beautiful color! If I was still on the mainland, I would have definitely gotten a matte finish, but I live in a condo with no where to do the maintenance washes 😅

Btw, any recs for a detail shop on the island?

I’ve heard good things about Capone’s, but I detail all my own cars. If your condo has a wash area, iRep in Kane’ohe is a good place to get everything you need.

Hi All,

New to this forum but long time BMW owner (f87 currently).

I live in Australia and I am looking at ordering a 2025 spec. I’ve always had sunroofs in my cars but I can’t seem to find an option for it here or any g87’s with sunroofs??

Is anyone from Australia or has encountered this issue??
