If you haven't seen Charlie Wilson’s War check that out also, very good movie and Hoffman is great in it. Probably would have won a best supporting if Javier Bardem in No Country didn’t take it.

Still in the process of showing my wife movies she hasn't seen. Most of them she has liked, some thoroughly enjoyed.
Last night was a bust with a movie I find hilariously funny. Smoking Aces! Our sense of humor is different.

Bohemian Rhapsody!
I’ll admit it, that I was on the fence about watching this one. And I’ll be the first to also admit that I enjoyed it far more than I expected. A great film, with excellent acting. |

Watched the Hell-Boy remake/prequel as there was nothing else going on at the time. I liked the first two better.

Have you seen Bad Times at the El Royale yet? Our taste in movies is pretty much one in the same, great little movie. Are you into horror films at all? |

Hobbs and Shaw... save your money and wait for the online stream. It was bad... I’d rather watch Tokyo drift again.

The Wandering Earth.
It was one of China's biggest grossing movies of all time. Sci-Fi. Superb special effects! I believe Netflix has picked it up. |

But then again......I remember reading anything I could get my hands on of H.P. Lovecraft when I was young. My wife on the other hand is lukewarm with them. If it's too bloody or gory....she's not in it. Those are the ones I consider more comedy like than anything. My only issue is when they being certain books to movies. I have this preconceived notion of how it should be, so I'm usually let down. Like the Tower movie. Idris Elba was great, but it was a series of books that they should have stretched out across more films. Plus I'm a big "cult horror film" fanatic.....especially "B rated" movies.

Great notables - Grindhouse - Planet Terror & Death Proof, Killer Clowns from Outter Space, The Return of the Living Dead (1985), ALL of the Elm Street movies, The Evil Dead films, Tuck and Dale versus Evil, The (1980's) Prom Night movies and there are a ton more I'd have to think on. Another great film that didn't get much attention that I think you would like is Brawl in Cell Block 99. If you haven't seen that one, check that out! Great watch! If you haven't seen Hereditary, check it out too. We really enjoyed it. |

Whiplash was good. I occasionally watch the last 30 minutes if I'm bored on a flight. I play (okay...played...it's more occasional recreation now ) drums and started to work 4-way coordination for jazz drumming but never made it beyond that. Jazz drumming is something I've always found to be awesome and more skillful than rock drumming.
