I went in to check on progress at the dealer today.
It’s actually not shipped, it’s status 193 waiting for boat so it’s been 4 months in Bremerhaven. May not be be this year delivery.
Status 190 is dispatched from AG so assumed this was shipped.
Built in late March.

That's just not on, Lex!!! Without going into too much detail, is the dealership offering to do anything for you? I mean, given what you have written, if it turns out your car really is still in Bremerhaven there is every chance some Australian buyers will receive their MY24 M2s before you receive your 9-10 month old March 23 built car! Like I said, that's just not on.

What could you expect them to do? I can’t imagine they would discount it.
?
Not sure what to do as I really want a car.
I drove the demo today and it was an absolute animal.
So quick and loved everything about it.

Have you looked for alternative options onshore Lex? That's your best bet unfortunately.. there's been a number of cancellations so hoping you find something.

Certainly not suggesting you pull the deal and I agree with you, they are unlikely to discount it. I imagine every single buyer is the same, we all "really want" the car and we all want it now. And that's the point, based on your post, it is likely your car will arrive in Australia in 2024 and it will be fast approaching being 12 months old. That's not your fault, it's not the dealership's fault and it's not the fault of BMW Australia. But it is the fault of some employee/s of BMW Germany, the person who decided to have your car transported to Bremerhaven where it has remained for quite an unreasonable time. If I was in your position, I would be requesting a meeting with your Salesperson together with the Sales Manager. At the meeting, you calmly and respectfully set out how you have been grossly disadvantaged as a direct result of the ludicrous decision to send your car to Bremerhaven. And, I would ask for the Sales Manager to make representations to BMW Australia on your behalf requesting some form of remedy, some Good Will. You may ask for a 3 year service plan to be included free of charge or you may ask for something else you would like, free of charge. The point is Lex, if you don't ask, you don't get. And, when you do ask, you do so with respect. Good luck.

Well said Gyrin, and I can confirm I got the 3 year service plan thrown in for closing the deal on the car quick so definitely worth the ask.

Some good advice there, thanks for the input. I'll have a think about this and put something together.

Seems like 20/9 is firming up as the Torino’s arrival date. Dealer Principal just emailed me the same update.

Not sure if this is a limitation of the current BMW Aus website, but even though they are listed as AUTO there are actually a number of manuals. If you look for the 0-100 time it is a giveaway, the manuals are listed at 4.3 seconds. Also the associated images actually show the manual shifter.

My car is apparently on the boat 'TheBen' which docked in Brisbane yesterday.
Still not expected to arrive in Melbourne till mid October though.
And yes, it's a manual.

I would have thought it wouldn’t need to take more than a month to reach Melbourne from Brisbane. My dealer said mine’s on “Thalatta”, which is at the Panama Canal, with ETA Melbourne 10/10.

Yeah I agree, considering the boat is scheduled to be in Melbourne on Tuesday.
I guess I can only go on what my dealer is telling me. But to be honest I am not overly fussed. I have some M Performance parts on order so hoping it all aligns and comes together at the same time plus I will be away working at Bathurst the first week of October. So waiting a little longer is no stress.
