Fingers crossed!

Edit, I am beginning to wonder if your center still has it set to a priority 3?

It's a 1. Check your PMs

No did not complete the buying process yesterday.

Was told the car can't be delivered until after I think April 15. Yes, some owners have reported buying/getting a M2 before April 15 but if what I was told is correct they are being delivered before BMW said they could be delivered.

Since my purchase involves a trade in (my 2022 BMW 230i) I didn't want to drive my 230i 200 miles to the dealer only to be told that even if I could buy the M2 I couldn't take delivery of it. If the purchase happened I'd not have a way to get 200 miles home.

Or if I could not make the purchase then I'd have to drive the trade in 200 miles home again. Then when I could make the purchase drive 200 miles for a 3rd time. Potentially that could add 600+ miles to my trade-in's mileage.

I expect to buy the car on or after April 15. What ever date I can leave the dealer driving the new M2.

With all the HEAs sold already in the US. I highly doubt they are being "released" against NA's guidelines. I believe its just something your dealership is doing, for whatever reason, and they are just making an excuse to pass the blame away from them.

Well, that thought entered my mind. I have searched high and low and have found nothing official looking regarding when HEA cars can be delivered.

The car is at the dealer. It has apparently received whatever PDI a new BMW gets. It has a "Sold" sign in the cabin. The dealer has my $2000 partial payment. I would think dealer would want my trade in and the rest of the M2's purchase price PDQ. Why a dealer would at this point drag its feet is beyond me.

Sent an email to my salesman. (Sent one to the sales manager the other day and have not received a reply to that yet.) Included a pic of the car on the showroom floor and asked when I could come up and complete the buying process.

Since the car is 200 miles (3 hours) away from me I can't be running up there every day with my trade in. I want to drive up one time in my trade in and complete the purchase.

My dealership told me it couldn't be sold till the 8th. That coincides with everything I have read, and when the very first HEA cars were sold. Mine arrived on the truck, on the 10th. It was at the dealership for 2.5 hours before I drove it away. They are keeping it in theor showroom for looks, till another car arrives to replace it I bet.

There is not a Stop Sale on the HEA G87s so Centers have it at their discretion to sale/deliver whenever they choose.

Didn't ask about the car. Walked in and walked around and no one paid any attention to me. Took some pics of the M2. And there was a white M4 with a "Sold" sign on the floor, too.
Hey man, sorry about the drool I left on your car. Was there yesterday to get to look at one clean and unwrapped. Beautiful choice and now wishing I had taken it when offered. Congrats!

No worries. I like the car but not enough to drool. Yet. My SOP is to avoid falling in love with a car until *after* I have bought the car.

We're beginning to think mine is waiting for some sort of repair, possibly a wheel. Nothing specified in the system yet but both my CA and TUD have similar conclusions based on BMWs low threshold for repairs before releasing from VDC.

That's a good thing!

I just hope whatever it is, it's resolved soon.

The delay is actually helping me line up all of my "phase 1" mods to be done at the same time. So that's positive.

In any case, I'm not going to bump this thread anymore and just try to be patient while I wait.

That's good to hear. At the end of the day you're getting a car this month. It will make delivery all the sweeter.

Aargh, but I like your attitude. I’m getting annoyed that mine has been stuck in Quality Control since Monday.

Why do you suspect it’s a damaged wheel?

In my CA's experience, those tend to be longer delays while they wait for a new wheel vice a scratch or other damage that the VDC has materials on site to repair. He says a lot of the shipping damage he has seen has been wheels. It's really just a guess, but eventually the repair should show up in their system.

He indicated that if that were the case, it would already be annotated in the system.
