Very optimistic. I was in transit and now at port. Been there for 3 weeks. No idea what port—Mexico or US—but it’s been sitting there picking up all kinds of shite in its paint. 😡

It’s a lucky draw. Good luck to everyone. I was told to expect the car at the dealer in September. No way I am expecting that to happen. In FA since August 15.

I'm still being patient. Not getting my hopes up. I also switched to FA on 8/15 and then to RFT the day before yesterday. If I see mine in September I consider myself lucky. Good luck to all of you as well. We could still very well be boat-mates.

Whelp, I was on the fast track, but seemed to hit a wall.

Ordered 7/29 - allocation was week 34 and 112 status
Around 8/12 it flipped to 150 with 8/22 production date
On 8/14 production date moved up to 8/18
8/19 car is in Final Assembly and status 160
Evening of 8/22 it is Ready for Transport and status 165

Still stuck in 165, Ready for Transport as of today.
Genius (800#) stated this morning it’s just waiting at port for ship assignment and can’t provide any estimate or other details. CA has been unresponsive as well. Also Genius felt like they needed to tell me it’s only day 10 and that’s not too bad as they’ve seen a car sit 4 weeks.

I was 160 from May 25th to July 27th, then 165 from then until today

There are some other UK guys even worse. Delays happen, no real issues with delays but BMW comms on them are awful. I had an eta wk29 and a collection arranged the week after, as late as the friday of wk 29, eta was still the same but status was 160 so in Mexico.
BMW must have known it wasn't on the anticipated boat, so would have known the date wasn't going to be met but they didn't update the eta until it had passed.

Super frustrating but on the way now.

Similar to my situation. Delivery week was supposed to be week 29. Walked into my dealership yesterday and was told it has landed in Europe and will be here in week 37. Almost there. FYI, my final assembly was end of May…
I know it’s gonna be worth it though!

Nice, great news it's at least on the same continent! you must have been on the Victoria Highway but that skipped Southampton on this trip.
Enjoy!

Wonder if a class-action lawsuit against BMW would hold water. Vehicles being built in a country where they know there are shipping issues, zero comms, and basically lying to buyers about deliveries.

Does anyone know how to find out what ship names are inbound to Veracruz that might give us Final Assembly/Ready for Transport folks a ride out of there? Potentially dodging hurricanes haha

Isn't it the sales persons fault? They make sales based on delivery dates. They would absolutely misguide buyers into thinking their car will arrive sooner rather than later just to get that deposit.

My dealer quoted me 6-8 months. It arrived in 7. His estimation was realistic and thats all you can ask for. My car waited at the port for 3 months!

Yours might be transported by rail since you're in Texas. Rail transports from Mexico BMW have two changeovers points in Loredo and Chicago.

All cars leave Mexico on a boat to the US. Texas cars stop in Galveston, then go via car transporter to the dealership

Ah ok - my BMW contact didn't mention a boat, just rail.

"It will go from the plant and has two rail changeovers, the first in Loredo, TX and the next in Chicago and will end up in Toronto at our RAILHEAD. From there it gets TRUCKED from Toronto to our dealership"

I can't imagine a vehicle made in Altamira ending up in Laredo by ship. It makes way more sense to ship cars to the border by train. By the way, just put in an order for a '24 m240i and have been enjoying reading this forum. I hope they ship it by train.

If you’re currently in 160-165 status. There is the silver moon vehicle carrier docking 09/19 in Mexico port Veracruz. I believe we should see an update in the next few days!!
