I moved to “Ready for Transport” today. I was at FA since August 15th. A bit confusing as my Sales Mgr informed me today that there will be no ship available until October 18th (to Baltimore). It seems there are several hitting Altamira before.
So lets wait and see and the saga continues…

Well, well, well… it arrived in Greenville.

Doing a PCD on the 25th… the next 12 days are going to be longer than the past six months! 😁

Fair Price Now for MY 2023?

Yesterday I plugged my Model Year 2023 M240i X-drive, which I have not yet received, into edmunds.com. I had to give it 11 miles, outstanding condition, the options I selected, etc. The "Dealer Retail" price came out at $61,528, whereas my MSRP, including shipping but no admin fee, is $59,045. My contract price is at MSRP. That kind of takes the wind out of my thinking that I should get a discount for "last year's model." My location is New England.

Yes it's insane. I pick up my '23 in a few days, and folks are already taking delivery of their '24s.

Looks like the next ship to Brunswick (East Coast, USA )from Altamira will be the Wisteria Ace scheduled to dock on the 20th. However, it is now in NY so the Hurricane may have altered its schedule. Currently showing 27th Sept arrival at Brunswick. Wonder if any Bimmers will be on it when she departs from Altamira.

That looks like the Arc Integrity ship so apparently the Vessel Finder website doesn't list all of the ships.

So, it looks like 2 ships should be departing Altamira around the 20th and 22nd headed towards the east coast.

If mine is not already on the Glovis Solomon, hopefully it will make it on one of these 2.

Almost there , I Agree about the 24 I ordered Xmas 22, hope I can get money off when I pick it up < but I heard the 24 does not have a button to turn off the auto stop, so the engine will go off at a stop which I hate unless you drive in sport mode anyone no if that's the case, I'm sure ill be happy with the car even thought it's a year old band new car

Happier without a new Porsche!

A 2024 allocation was readily available when I walked into the dealer - zero wait time. What’s creating the problem now is not demand but logistical chaos.

Good luck to those waiting (incl. myself).
Maybe this will help make some of you guys feel a little better:

I ordered a '22 Porsche Boxster GTS 4.0 on 24 SEP 21 at my local dealer. My first p-car was a used 912 back in 1971 when I got home from Vietnam. Many used ones since, but starting in 2011 I've ordered three new, this one being the third. Even as a well-known customer (but certainly not like the ones who order multiple cars in a short time period) I had to wait patiently just to get an "allocation" until finally this past April (2023) I realized I was simply never going to get the car at MSRP, which was stated in my agreement with the Porsche dealer. It seems that when Porsche stopped making the 718 GT4 and Spyder (in favor of the GT4RS and Spyder RS) everyone switched to the slightly lower-priced GTS (both Cayman and Boxster). That created even more demand for the GTS models, which of course meant the dealers were going to extract even more Adjusted Dealer Markup. That ADM had nearly gone away before this happened. Anyway, the best I could get out of them in April 2023 was $10,000 over MSRP. There were a few dealers in the US who had slightly less markup, but by this April I was so sick of the whole process that I just cancelled the order. I eventually found a 2016 981 Spyder, which I just love, in spite of the effort it takes to lower/raise the top. In total I saved about $40k if I include the increased MSRP for MY24, the cost of my proposed build, ADM, and probably nearly $10k in exhaust mods to make the new 718 models sound as good as the older ones (glass particulate filters). The other plus is that Porsche made the new-type 718 Spyders for about four years, while the one-year-only 2016 (981) is quite rare. The database seems to show that there are only 700+ remaining (out of the original 826) for all of North America. This will probably be my very last Porsche, but it's a thrilling car to drive, so I'm happy (and even happier that I actually spent less on a car I wanted than planned!).

For instance, I am in the USA and on the My Garage page Code 160 and 165 read as "Final Assembly" and "Ready For Transport", respectively.

I did an internet search and for many others code 160 seems to be "Released to Distribution" and 165 as "In Transit".

Which is it?

Given the time mine sat at 160 (about 3 weeks), I am inclined to believe 160 is released to distribution rather than at final assembly. Thus, hopefully, I can infer that 165 is in transit. (Mine just flipped to 165 on Monday AM.)
Mine also flipped to 165 on 09/13. 165 is referring to the vehicle is in route to the port. I'm a client advisor at a BMW dealer in FL. So I believe bud we're going to be in the same boat. Keep me posted when you get an update. Ask your client advisor your working with for a picture of your cars status. As employees we can see little more details through Sgate.

Just stay positive my friend!

What BMW dealer did you order from?

You might have a 2024. But you're stuck with the 48 Volt Mild Hybrid system.

2023's M240i are the last BMW's not to have it.

Mine just flipped to 165 as well on the 15th. Hopefully a ship assignment to Hueneme doesn’t take too long.

Have you had eyes on a US market MY 2024 M240i to verify mild hybrid? I think you would be the first to truly verify!

Ugh staring at Ready for Transport on the tracker for three weeks now is killer. CA informs me regularly on status too which is nice. HE sees "In transit to port of exit" or something like that on his screens.

I would not make a bet on that. We won't know until someone actually takes delivery of one. Too much conflicting information out there.

Never even got to find out what ship the car was on.

Doesn't at the port mean the one in Mexico?

If your vehicle is going by ship, it will update** to “At the Port” twice … once at the departure port, then after the “In Transit” status (while at sea) it will jump back to “At the Port” when it reaches the arrival port. Then back to “In Transit” again when it’s left the arrival port on a car carrier on the last leg to the dealer.

** Assuming the My Garage status successfully gets all the updates along the way, which my for M240 it did not, skipping a few. But it did with my X1, which came from Germany … “At the Port” status when at the European port, then “In Transit” followed by “At the Port” again when it made it to the port in CA.

Or on a truck already from Galveston! It just seems likely to me that we were on the same boat since our Production and Ready for Transport coincided so closely (and going to same port). Maybe should reach out to CA or that Genius thing. They should be able to tell you more detail. Mine is going up I-35 a bit more to Temple BMW.
