I will check. Thanks BTW: Did you order from BMW of Temple? If so, did they add on approximate $1,300 of "dealer accessories"?

For those of us at 165 and east coast US bound, it looks like the Wisteria Ace will be docking at Altamira tonight and we should know if any Bimmers will be loaded on it by this time tomorrow or early Thursday.

They did do the $1300 of add-ons in at Temple BMW. Lojack and some $500 "dealership protection" option that, as I understand it, fixes chipped windshields. Did you deal with them and fight to have it removed? I didn't even bring it up in price negotiation really. The discount they offered more than covered that add-on so I still came out a little below MSRP.

They were the first to have allocations in the area. I dealt with Jake (not from State Farm). He was not offering anything off MSRP and stood by the extras. He called me back numerous times but would not back off the extras so I took my business elsewhere.

Right so when I ordered this vehicle on 7/15 I hadn't been here to the forum yet--I knew nothing of this allocation business. They never mentioned it. After I learned of the process I was happy that my order was accept and even moved to "Scheduled for Production" right on that same day. I worked with Ted. He's been excellent for me thus far.

I had a feeling that dealer add-on stuff was one of their major hold-outs. I was surprised I didn't have to work too hard for a cash discount however. They must have really wanted a sale that day.

So when are you going to pick yours up??! Mine still says "At the Port" again. The CA told me mine goes on a truck tomorrow (Thursday).

The information that we see doesn't seem to jive with what our CAs see. My Garage for my car shows 165 "Awaiting Transport" but my CA said that his screen shows "In Transit form plant to port" but same 165 code.

Hoping mine is at the port waiting for a boat......Just not this boat.

My CA has not responded to my email. I think I am going to go there later today.

My MY 2024 240ix arrived at the dealer yesterday. I just returned from paying it a "visit". Here is what I ascertained: it has an ASS button. No indication from the sticker that it has a mild hybrid system and the headuint is MGU F (whatever that means) It had idrive 8.0. See photos attached.

From what I have read, it is very confusing in trying to determine which is the head unit required for id8.5. Hopefully your 24MY M240i has the right head unit and you will just need the software updated by your dealer to get you to 8.5.

Personally, as long as mine comes without the 48v MH, I will be happy with or without id8.5.

The Arc Integrity vessel carrier is currently being docked at Altamira.

Current schedule shows it heading to Brunswick as the next stop arriving on the 28th.

The other vessel carrier, the Wisteria Ace, is also at anchor (not docked) at Altamira so I assume it will likely dock after the Arc Integrity and then it too is scheduled for Brunswick arriving on the 29th.

Hopefully one or both will be loaded with Bimmers.

I'm out of town, so won't see it until Wednesday, but my M240 arrived at the dealer yesterday.

Less than 6 weeks after order ... 8/15 to 9/23. (Production date was 8/30.)

Certainly quicker that the original 3 month estimate.

For reference, I'm in the Seattle area. So factory to Lazaro Cardenas, MX (Pacific port) to Port Hueneme, CA. Then (presumably via car carrier trailer) to Washington.

I take it from your order date that your car is a 2024 Model Year? Even if it's a 2023 that's a lot faster than most of us have experienced. I ordered my '23 M240ix on June 6th and paid a deposit then as the dealer confirmed they were able to get an allocation. My car arrived at the destination port this past week and should be at the dealer this coming week.

It actually proceeded a bit faster toward the end than I expected. I planned to sell my '18 VW Golf R before the BMW arrived, so I've had to scramble to get the funding arranged. Since there is no sales tax in New Hampshire I usually sell my cars myself. I've sold three cars on Bring A Trailer- if I had been thinking at all I would have set that up some time ago. There's now at least a one month wait to have auctions go live, which means there will be a larger loan than I want for a while.

Great to hear you have your car waiting for you!

Yes, MY24, ordered shortly after the model year change over.

I know that some (many?) have had long waits for one reason or another. Obviously people outside the continent will naturally have longer waits, like when folks in North America do orders from Europe. With my two MINIs, a Volvo and my X1 (each custom builds) they were more the 3-4 month time frame coming from Europe.

Shared in part to give a positive example ... that maybe things are getting better with this factory and its distribution network for folks with more recent orders.

Though a big factor is the crap shoot of allocations. If there is a dealer that you can work with (no markups or other BS) that also has an allocation in the near future. Mine (BMW Bellevue, WA) had the quick allocation, and so far (we'll see if they play some game on Wednesday) no BS.

But like it sounds like with you, the only downside to the quick delivery is I plan on selling my two other cars (working from home when not traveling, I barely need one.) And now will be a little more rushed to get that done.

It may have changed but my understanding is that the Gulf of Mexico port that BMW ships from is Veracruz rather than Altamira.

For the east coast US, they have been using Altamira lately because Veracruz has been so busy and delays were starting to be a large problem.

The Glovis Solomon shipped a couple of weeks ago out of Altamira with a load of Bimmers delivered to several east coast ports.

Having said that, mine is still sitting at status 165 this AM and the Arc Integrity left for Brunswick on Saturday. And the Wisteria Ace has been anchored off the coast at Altamira since Thursday. What the heck do I know.

BTW, for east coast USA, it is fairly easy to check the listing of vessels scheduled for arrival at any particular port (Brunswick, Baltimore, etc.) - just go to the port authority web site and look at the projected arrivals. For Brunswick for instance, they give you a 15 day schedule. Then you can google the name of the ships and see where they are coming from. I saw none coming from Veracruz to Brunswick - only Altamira to Brunswick.

We also have the Glovis Cardinal and Glovis Sky that both arrived Altamira yesterday (anchored) with Brunswick as their next stops on Sept 30 and Oct 3.

So we have 3 vessel carriers anchored off of the Altamira port with Brunswick as their next destination. With each capable of carrying 4K+ cars, that should relieve a lot of the back log. We can hope.

Praying my car is on the Wisteria Ace. Vehicle has been produced since 07/21.

I just don't understand how the east coast of America are getting 2024 2 series and M2 on the ground. Which started production in August. BMW SMH. I wanted to back out because the logistics nightmare.

Clearly I don't understand how things work.

Ordered a 240 last Tuesday for (I thought) a week 42 build. 4 days later it moved to status 150.

Not complaining but a bit confused.
