Yes, hard to figure out what is going on with the logic. It should be first in-first out but obviously that doesn't always happen for whatever reason.

If yours doesn't get on the Wisteria, there are 2 more at anchor waiting their turn to load......

Not to throw cold water on your high but if you read through all the threads here about delivery times, the average seems to be around 3-4 months. Some are getting theirs in 1-2 months which is really weird and there are some that have been waiting 6 months or more. Hard to figure out why some sit in final assembly or ready for transport for that long. Financially speaking, it is not good for BMW to have all that money tied up in inventory for that long so it greatly behooves them to get them to their customers as quickly as possible after they have been built. If they are building 100s of cars per day and not shipping that many, their inventory of completed cars must be staggering right now.

Put my order in Oct 11 22…. Schedule for delivery tomorrow… almost 1 year later. Was released to carrier 4 days ago so I have been going crazy each time a transporter shows up without it.

You are very patient. Not sure I would have hung in there that long especially when you see cars being delivered that were ordered months after yours.

Bet you will be celebrating once you take delivery - And I hope the wait turns out to be well worth it.

I had other cars to keep me occupied, but yes it has been frustrating. This will be my daily and I have been looking forward to having a third pedal again.

Picking up MY24 tomorrow 9/27 - just about 2 months from order as I was very fortunate dealer had modifiable allocation that went into production just few weeks after I secured it.

Ordered 7/29 - allocation was week 34 and 112 status
Around 8/12 it flipped to 150 with 8/22 production date
On 8/14 production date moved up to 8/18
8/19 car is in Final Assembly and status 160
Evening of 8/22 it is Ready for Transport and status 165
Arrived 9/20 at VPC in Port Hueneme via Dionysos Leader
Arrived at dealer 9/26

From what I have read on the M2 threads, the west, central and west coast US shipments are happening without much shipping delay. Us east coasters are having to wait much longer due to shipping vessel carrier delays and/or port delays (Altamira and Veracruz issues).

I’m week 43 and still “order received.” Today makes 1 month since I received a prod. number. So weird how they work their production schedule, but hoping mine move to 150 soon 😆 What’s your build?

Unfortunately that won’t support 8.5. MGU F is the oldest one and is based on 2018 design (even before MGU 21 and MGU 22). Don’t ask me why they are still using it. I have the same head unit (MGU MGU F) in my 2024 M3 Competition.

No cold water because I really have no expectations at the moment. Just to me an interesting/strange/unexpected data point.

Color me bemused.

Thanks for that. You know more than all the persons I questioned at the dealership. I had a loaner with idrive 8.5. Not really impressed except for having the HVAC controls at the bottom of the screen. Maybe one day idrive 8.0 will be updated to include that. Oh BTW: the loaner was a new X 5 it had NO AM RADIO!!!

Oh well.
My paint was good, but they spotted my side mirrors really bad along with the glass. Never got them out, only reduced.

That’s super fast. Mine finished production on 8/14 and is still waiting on a ship. I don’t expect anything until end of October. That’s still not too bad considering I got an allocation right away, but the backlog on shipping adds 6-8 weeks unnecessarily.

Pick up yet? Wondering how you like the white interior. Almost went with the white interior myself, but hesitated at the last moment. Wish I had stuck with it!

Snap some photos once you can.

Is your dealer a PENSKE affiliate? Mine is a Penske dealer and I am wondering if cars are grouped by dealer network, held and shipped together for financial/logistical reasons. They obviously make them when allocated but shipping them seems to be based on some unknown factor (port delays are part of it but not all).

Mine was also built about the same time as yours (8/18) so it has been sitting for 6 weeks now.

6/30/23: Order submitted.

7/14/23: Production begins.

8/7/23:Entered Assembly Line.

8/8/23: Final Assembly.

8/31/23: Ready For Transport

9/18/23: At The Port.

9/19/23: In Transit.

9/19/23: At The Dealership.

The Wisteria Ace put to sea from Altamira this morning heading to Brunswick, GA.

The Glovis Sky and Cardinal are both still moored awaiting a berth in the Altamira Port. Both of these are showing Brunswick as their next destination.

By my math, the Glovis Solomon (which is still delivering cars to the NE), Arc Integrity and the Wisteria Ace are carrying at least 12,000 vehicles to east coast US ports. With the Sky and Cardinal added to that total, that is at LEAST 20K vehicles. That is a lot of cars/trucks in just a few weeks to the east coast. Not all of them are Bimmers of course but it makes me wonder if the backlog will soon be a lot less.

Walked into a dealership on June 30th.
112 - July 6
150 - July 14
160 - August 19 (Production Date: August 14)
165 - September 13
In Transit - September 29

Mine too. My guess is we both are on the Glovis Sky (still moored at Altamira) but possibly on the Wisteria Ace that left Altamira a couple of days ago.

Congrats to us both.

7/7 - Deposit
7/18 - 112 (Production Number assigned)
7/26 - 150 (Production date of 8/22)
8/14 - 150 (Production date moved to 8/18)
8/18 - 153 (Entering Assembly line)
8/19 - 160 (Final Assembly)
9/11 - 165 (Ready for Shipment)
9/29 - 195 (In Transit)

Overnight (9/28-9/29) it either skipped "Awaiting Carrier Assignment", "Dispatched", "At the Port" steps or they happened during the night when I was snoring away dreaming about ownership of an M240i someday....
