I called UPS and they said it was a physical scan when it went on the truck, not just an update in the system. Not sure why it wasn't held at the facility, though. That option is not grayed out when I log into my UPS account, so Verizon didn't force a delivery to the address.

Hmm that's odd. I ordered thru apple and both apple and ups allowed me to pre sign for delivery. You can call (I think before noon and ask it to be held and pick it up tonight, well at least that's I've done a bunch of times in the past)

I've had this happen before. They load it on the truck at the distribution facility and deliver it to the UPS store. The scan will show out for delivery even though it is going to the UPS store. You will then see a "delivered" scan when it arrives at the store...

UPS called about 4PM and told me they screwed up and didn't hold the package. I was like, "Ya think?" I took the day off so I could be here when the driver showed up. They told me the driver would be here in an hour. It was closer to 2 hours, but I finally got the phone. Could have gone to work after all. Gotta love UPS sometimes.

Then I'm trying to activate the phone and the instructions say to call an 800 number from another phone to activate. I was wondering what folks like my brother, who only has his one iPhone, who do in that situation.

So now the phone is restoring from my backup and then I need to upgrade to 10.0.2. At least the screen looks right and my apps are all there. Definitely need a case of some kind. This thing is slippery as hell. Not even the glossy black one. Just the normal black.

I got the xdoria in "carbon fiber" it looks good and protects well $35 on amazon. Element case has one with real carbon

I got the Peel case for mine. Best case I've ever had had for a phone. Very thin and excellently executed design.

Going to order on for the wife tonight now that I've tried it out on mine.

How's the camera on the 7+?

They haven't released the software update for "portrait" mode (the mode with the bokeh), but in general it seems pretty great. I don't really push the camera's limits to see where it starts to fail, but I like it a lot. Really just using it for snapshots, nothing I'd call compositional. Sorry for being unhelpful.

Probably see that ability in 10.1 too. You can shoot with some 3rd party apps right now, though.

But it feels so much better without a sleeve plus if it's a sudden spur of the moment thing who wants to stop to put a sleeve on it. On top of the fact I have a 7 PLUS so it's much bigger and harder to fit a sleeve on it

7+ came in yesterday. Copped a Supcase. Shit fits better than expected. Not too tight, not too loose. Amen.
