How long does it take, generally from final assembly to being on a ship?

that's what i've been trying to figure out.. no updates yet.. i think it largely dependent on the ship schedules out of Mexico.. if our cars are ready the day a ship is being loaded it's going to be quick, if we just miss a ship, maybe the next on is a week or so away

here's the genius response to my email asking for status.. sadly it's not very helpful, but does at least appear to indicated that the car is probably ready to get on a ship... but no real info

"Your 2022 BMW M240i xDrive Coupe was produced and handed over to Sales March 10, 2022. At this time, I have no new estimated dates to provide to you. Once it ships, new estimated dates and vessel information will be generated."

Definitely sounds like it’s done and not waiting on any chips or anything at least. Hopefully things keep moving along and the next set of cars will be going through production soon. I find it strange that there only seems to be a few people on here a month who are seeing movement. You’d think we would be seeing at least 1 or 2 people a week with progress.

Mine was originally scheduled week 9 and then went it “production begins” this past week (week 10) but hasn’t done anything since. Seems like they keep waiting for parts and then putting as many through the line as they can until they have to wait for parts again. Idk why they seem to be so optimistic with build dates they keep missing though. Pretty sure most of us would be a lot happier if they were just honest and said they were behind.

i know people can ignore these if they want.. but i'm only working so this is something to do...

I'm hoping my car will be on the ship Horizon Leader, as it arrives in Veracruz today... and assuming it's picking up BMWs.. i noticed it's scheduled to arrive in Georgia 3/24 which is another port BMW ships to.

That seems like a reasonable assumption if yours is ready to ship like they say it should be.

i found this site totally depressing.. i had found it on some other tracking BMW posts https://www.walleniuswilhelmsen.com/schedules you can look to see when the company that handles the BMW logistics schedules ships... if this info is right... it's easily MAY before my car gets here.... not sure i won't pick up a Z4 or Miata instead

I am also in final assembly. I'm predicting mid to late April for delivery, that way I won't drive myself crazy playing the waiting game.

talked to my CA this morning, and my car which completed on Mar 9, is still waiting at the port in Veracruz, and looking at the upcoming schedule of ships from the company BMW uses.. any of our cars waiting at the port, will be sitting there until the first week of April, and won't be scheduled to get to NY, until May 5th or so.... so Mid May seems like the "best case" for the group us waiting now...

From my experience, WW is the predominant shipping line from Germany, not Mexico. My build is on a Glovis ship due into the NY/NJ port on 3/23.

Yes, I have only been seeing Glovis ships for the 240i and 230i. Mine was the Glovis Crystal.

There's a ship called the Bravery Ace that got into Vera Cruz yesterday. Could be a possibility for some of us in the waiting for transport. Can't for the life of me figure out it's schedule next-but appears to run up and down the east coast with cars.

I ordered at the very end of January, my dealer traded an allocation and I was assigned a Week #10 build date. I was obviously quite bummed when it did not enter production last week. I saw some on here saying their week 10 got moved to week 12+.. mine moved to Production Begins status today!

I was getting quite impatient.. even though its $20K more I have been really eyeing a 2022 M3 Comp a dealer 3 hours away has in. I can wait it out... I will wait it out...
