We're going to be hitting something close to $330K in renos because my wife wanted a mudroom.

Which necessitated us building another garage so she can change one of the bays of the existing garage into her mudroom. And update both bathrooms and create a third bathroom.

Last week on this day I had a new/but going well relationship, and was about to start my dream job.

Never cuffed yet. It was 1987. I had borrowed my grandfathers VW rabbit and was cruising with some buddies Traveling through an intersection on a green light the woman coming the other way decided she want to make a left turn. Hit her head on a very low speed. Cops showed up. They were investigating the accident and put us both in the backseat of a car. The officer in the front seat said I smell alcohol and who had been drinking. Woman spoke up and said "I had a couple at the bar" I was immediately released and don't know what happened to the woman.

Sorry for lack of updates been a crazy busy week.

As far as the relationship, I won't get into too many details because some of it is sensitive information, but basically years ago a stalker stabbed her multiple times. She spent weeks in the hospital and nearly died. I made the mistake of being a nice guy and going slow on the physical part to be a gentleman. Everything else was great, we really hit it off and had a great connection, but ultimately me going too slow led to her questioning the spark. Sucks because we aligned perfectly on almost everything else, both have successful careers, she enjoys cars, witty playful banter, etc.

On the work side, I took on a new job at a University in their IT department. The pay is good, but there are a lot of "unknowns" in this department from my predecessors, and not much support to resolve those issues. I have previous experience in academic IT, but without getting political its tough to really get through to university folk what their priorities should be when they feel other "feel good" agendas take priority.

Thats horrible, been in a similar situation. Was not violent like that. It can make things tough down the road. 16 years in and I am still put in tough situations b/c of some scumbag from 10 years before my wife and I ever met.
Hang in there if other things are good. 99% of the time for us its OK, but every now and then things trigger bad days.
Best of luck...as discussed in the dating threar, its not easy out there today so I cant imagine anyone wants to "get out there" to date
