I’ve been told my car is at status 165, however BMW Genius couldn’t say if my car had been loaded onto a ship yet from Mexico to UK.

Apparently they will only see an update when it arrives at either Bremerhaven or Portsmouth.

Is this accurate or should they know if it’s been loaded?

It's come from Southampton, Belgium and Germany.

Landed at the port 2.27.24
Took receipt 2.29.24

The salesman was in a big panic for me to complete the purchase today with 5 hours notices to “hit end of the month.” I found that rude as a customer. However, when I was dealing with the finance manager to sign documents etc she was telling me that they are penalized if a car sits into the next month. She said a delivery a 30 vehicles came a few months ago on the last day of the month via truck from the port and they were penalized because some could not be picked up that day. I don’t get it.

Yeah, When I placed the order, he gave me estimate of 3 months to finish.

Damn that sucks. I thought they were back on track with production.

My SA told me my car was also on the RCC Europe. The ship sailed at about 1:04am and is on the way. However, it says the destination of the ship has been changed to Brunswick GA and I don’t know if the cars are now getting off there and transported with a truck (Chicago) or is it just as stop to add additional things for transport into the ship.

Where in CT are you? I'll look for you on the Merrit Parkway. I'm one of the few 240's running around Fairfield County. I've seen maybe a half dozen in 13 months

My G87 arrived in Southampton on the 28th Feb, still stuck there with no sign of movement, however both CA and Genius say delivery to dealer this week!

I live in Easton. I saw my first 240 around here last week at the Westport station. It was a black one.

Nice I'm right next door in the North end of Bridgeport. Did you buy at BMW of Bridgeport? I've never dealt with sales there, I've bought my cars over the years from Ridgefield. I do service at Bridgeport though. No issues. Congrats on the ride!

Actually watched the livestream as the Europe docked in Baltimore. Yeah, crazy, but it was pretty cool. The Europe has moved from the BMW distribution port, across the bay. Pretty sure cars were unloaded on 3/9.

Hi,

I ordered it thru the Ridgefield dealer and I had to take it back today because I had a battery replacement warning. The service was excellent, they gave me an I4 with m package as a loaner and replaced my battery under warranty, so I’m going to keep going there. Nobody gave me a hard time about anything and it was just easy. Looking forward to getting my car back tomorrow. The I4 is drives pretty nice but I definitely not a fan of the buck tooth grill and the regen breaking is kind of annoying. As I took my foot off the gas it slows down really fast and I could see a few people almost rear-ended me. I don’t think the brakes lights come on as you take your foot of the gas. I barely used the brake pedal at all today.

So far the car is finished processing at VPC stating “released to carrier”. That may mean that the car is on the truck on the way or that the car is in the hands of the carrier but may be awaiting a truck. The image seems to show “Accelerated services” as the carrier.

New to this forum and have an order in the production queue. Recently sold my E36 M3 sedan of 10 years, and ready for something new. Poetically enough, I sold my M3 and received my new M240i's VIN number on the same day

Build is gonna be a Thundernight M240i xDrive, black sensatec, premium package, parking assistance package (for the 360 camera), shadowline package, active cruise, rhombicle trim, drive recorder, harman kardon, lumbar support, wireless charging, style 791M wheels with performance non-runflat tires. Basically everything except the ZTK package, remote start and the illuminated M door trim.

My dealer had an order in place that I was able to modify to my specs. Looking like a production date early next month. I'm crossing my fingers to take delivery sometime in May since it seems like US West coast cars are getting distributed pretty quickly after being built.

1/31/24 - Order Accepted (Dealer's previous order allocation)
3/3/24 - Order updated to my specs, deposit made (Thundernight M240i xDrive)
3/15/24 - In Production (status 150), build date 4/11/24, VIN assigned
3/27/24 - Build date changed to 4/10/24
4/10/24 - Entered Production through Quality Check
