It's only been 2 days since it left Lazaro Cardenas on 9/19... It's scheduled to arrive in Port Hueneme on 9/23.

Out of curiosity, does your online/app tracker show "In Transit"? And did you get the ship name from BMW Genius or your CA?

While we're all waiting I have a question for the group. More hypothetical than anything, since I'm likely going to stick with the car I ordered (unless someone convinces me out of it lol)

I have a 2025 M2 that's currently RFT, and should hopefully be here within the next month. Today, I found a similarly spec-ed 2025 that just arrived on the lot at a different dealer.

The one that's on the lot right now is optioned slightly higher than the one I ordered (~$3.5k higher MSRP). The main difference is that it has a CF roof - I was on the fence about this when I ordered, but ultimately opted for the sun roof. It also has wireless charging, remote start, and some other accessories (like the M performance floor mats) that I don't really care for. This car also won the tire lottery with Michelins.

I'm still 50/50 about the CF roof - I don't think I'm an advanced enough driver to see performance improvements from the weight reduction. But it does look great aesthetically and helps resale, so personally I'd value it at ~$1.5k.

If you were me would you:
a) Keep the car you originally ordered and stop second guessing yourself
b) Get the car on the lot because CF roof + Michelins + immediate delivery is worth the extra cost
c) Only get the car on the lot if they discount it by $x (probably unlikely)

Curious to hear people's perspectives!

Good morning! Has your car updated as the chat has told me it still hasn't. Do you think its possible we were not on that boat? Even though, according to the timeline that seemed the most logical. I suppose it could be an alternative carrier? or BMW system is slow.

Are you going to use the sunroof? Otherwise why get it at all?
The price is the price. Don't try to make some random value of it for when you want to sell. Never understood why people buy a car and immediately think about resale value.

Tires are tires. Buy new ones if you want. Probably not going to get a discount but you can try.

If you're ready to buy I'd take it unless you exact options are super important and only you can answer that

CF roof gets a huge thumbs up from me, along with the Michelins. I REALLY don’t want the Pirellis. G80 forums are full of unhappy lottery-losing Pirelli owners. I also have remote start and MP floor mats on mine, lol.

I think you can pull a fuse or unplug the charger if you don’t like it.

I’d take it, personally. The CF roof is a big deal.

Mine just flipped to In Transit this morning. So it's maybe that they forgot it on the truck and it went back to the factory and now it's on its way back to the port again...or it just updated because it felt bad for sitting at Ready for Transport for so long....or maybe it's been on the Graceful Leader this whole time.

Not holding my breath, but I will be giving Genius a call later this morning to see if they can tell me.

They are slow to update. I can’t see how it could be on any other boat. It should change in the next 24/48hrs.

Confirmed with BMW Genius, car was definitely on the Graceful Leader and it will be arriving at port today. Damn, I might have even gotten it before the end of the month if it wasn't for port installed MP HAS. Looking good for early October tho, I might still be able to get the break-in done before garaging it for the winter (but honestly I doubt it).

Is this with your dealer you confirmed it with or the BMW chat? My BMW genius is still saying my car is at sea!

I asked Genius first and they said at sea. Then contacted dealer.. It’s the built in delay they have..😉

Incredible!! That's a nice surprise to start the week. BroDoze I wonder if our trackers are 3 days behind as well?

IIRC, my car went into RFT the same day as reallymarkedup
