My first car was a 1967 Ford Fairlane 289. What a wonderful car.....in 1967. In 2023, it's a deathtrap.
EVERYTHING in that interior is metal except the seats. EVERYTHING. And the crumple zones were your knees. It's a miracle any of us survived. Shawn |

When you realize that BMW E9X series is going to turn 20 years old soon and
the supposedly new F3X is already a decade old... Life hit me hard! |

I'd put him at middle age: he didn't make sure no one was watching him other than the kid.

...when you go into an IHOP to eat and these things happen:
1) You know what the I in IHOP used to stand for.... 2) You see a bunch of customers with white hair and you realize that you are one of them... 3) You look at the Senior Menu to see if you qualify and you realize you've met the age criteria for the past 18 years!.... 4) The coffee tastes better than Starbucks.... |

The roads would be a lot safer if more people did this. It amazes me how most drivers have no idea how to drive in the snow. I have AWD and snow tires. I adjust my driving to road conditions but there are always the morons blowing past me only to wind up in the shoulder or ditch because they have no clue.

Driving down a mountain with some curves to it and a 90s accord comes flying by, zooming in and out. I said this guys going to crash. About a minute later I see him in the distance. He had gotten too close to the shoulder and the rear end went out. Front end slams into the mountain, spins and the rear end slams into the mountain and rips the bumper off. He somehow gained control and kept driving. |

Did I mention it was raining? Yep. Anyway, things got interesting. We stayed side by side, accelerating. It got interestinger. Lateral traction was being severely tested. I was starting to think about backing off the throttle. Next thing I know the teens are no longer beside me! I looked in the mirror to see their car bouncing off various bits of hillside whilst swapping ends. Their rubber bits stayed on the downward side. They basically just spun out and knocked the bejeezus out of both ends of the car. I kept going. You know you're old when... ...I still count that day when counting my lucky stars. |

I’d say both of those drivers were pretty lucky that they didn’t hit anyone else.
The guy in the accord could have easily spun out into 80mph traffic to his left, instead of the mountain side. |

We've been really lucky - I should shut up, dad always told me don't spit up in the air. We only had 2 cold days this winter and no snow at all. Monday it was 65 degrees. Tomorrow is supposed to be somewhat cold at 25, but dry.

I love the people with AWD or 4WD in the snow that don’t understand just because you can go, doesn’t mean you can stop. I laugh when they’re in the ditch. Does that make me a bad person?
