Beautiful day. Perfect for gardening and putting some of my perennial beds to sleep until Spring. Most of my pots have been cleaned and put away.

Still shorts and sandals weather here in east central IL. Really odd for late October. Not that I'm complaining.

Exactly the same weather here. in the Bay Area (East Bay). Here's a photo that I took at my grandson's baseball game on a perfect Fall (Autumn) day.

86 and 85 over the weekend, in the shade, at noon. Santana winds were blowing.
Funny how different a 'NorEaster is depending on which coast you are on!

I'm really enjoying going to his games. I played a lot of baseball as a kid so I'm reliving my Little League days through him. I've starting playing again this year after a 52 year break. I've joined a senior softball league in my area. I dragged my grandson to one of my games. I was lucky that day and made two really good defensive plays and went 3 for 3. I told my daughter that she can't bring him to any more of my games. I want him to only remember me by that one game! |

Our highs here yesterday and today are normal for Labor Day, not late October!
The TV news talking heads are starting to throw the "D" word (drought) around, since we haven't had appreciable rain in a while. My rain gauge is saying 0.13 inches of rain total for the month. There's an elevated risk of brush fires for Wednesday, but no official alert yet.....

Went to work with the MTB this morning. Light fleece tights and jacket. I might do the trails after work and take some pics.

Still supposed to be high/mid teens (Celcius) for this week and maybe a tiny chance of rain. We've had very little if any rain in the past 5+ weeks. I guess the pumpkins don't care.
I've been biking across the cross-city rail trail after work. There's daylight for a good hour and then pitch black. Bike lighting is definitely a must for this season. Not so sure about the forest single tracks at night... |
