Anyone else see this from Veracruz to Galveston? 4 different entries, but all list the Grand Choice ship? Can anyone decipher what’s going on? Are there 4 Grand Choice ships?

Interestingly, it will go from Veracruz to Galveston, then down to Altamira, then back north to Brunswick and Baltimore.

Interesting in that when I called to get my production week they let me know the allocation was actually accepted back on 7/27, more than a week before the dealer gave it to me. It must have gone to someone else who backed out?

Holy shit it's moving fast. I might actually take delivery in late September / early October if things don't go crazy.. wow

Figured I'd throw my hat in the ring and keep you guys posted. My location is in NJ. Below is my build and what I know.

My dealer said they had one last allocation for the year and estimated late September/early October delivery, so I placed my order on 7/29. I received a production number from my dealer and when I registered for My Garage on 7/30 the website indicated that order was received and Scheduled for Production.

I contacted a BMW Genius that noted that my build date was scheduled for Week 35 or last week of August or first week of September. However, when I checked My Garage later today, my car had been removed from "Scheduled for Production" back to "Order Received." Is this typical or did my order just get delayed? Should I call my dealer or follow up with the Genius?

My Build:
Brooklyn Grey Metallic
Manual
Bi-color Wheels
Black Vernasca Leather with Blue contrast stitching
Carbon Fiber Trim
Lighting Package
Parking Assistant
Live Cockpit Pro
Heated Steering Wheel
Wheel Locks
Wireless Phone Charging

Placed Order: 7/29/23
Allocation: Unknown
Scheduled for Production: 7/30/23
Order Received: 8/8/2023

Nothing to be alarmed by, it’s a bit curious considering you don’t have the Carbon Pack but the switch over to the new year could play a part. I’d give it a week and then reach out. Also, the Genius line will not provide helpful or up to date information. Your CA is always your best source, besides BimmerPost of course.

And welcome, congrats on a great purchase.

First, you cant rely on the web tracker nor the BMW Genius line. You should get all updates from your CA.

If you got an allocation around August 1, figure 3 months on average from production begins to delivery but it would not rely on that as a hard date as delays can and will most likely occur.

My car is the only car at Oxnard that is ready to move to our dealership. 6 more will be ready within a week. They will likely wait until they are all ready to ship. It makes sense logistically.
It’s cool you’ll get to see your car come in on the truck. Will your colleagues give you a standing ovation?

Thanks for the reply and reassurance! How does the carbon pack play a role? Are those usually filled first? And yes, my M2 will be MY24. Also curious, I just noticed that the Vehicle Inquiry my CA provided me says my car status is 112 - Scheduled for Daily Production Pack. I guess I'll call to confirm.

Glad to hear they're unreliable lol. I'll follow up with my CA and try to maintain some semblance of patience. Thanks for the reply!

I asked my dealer how I went from 16th in line last month to allocation this month. What they told me is that once they had the allocations they were just calling anyone that put money down and first one to call back could claim it..

Not sure how true that is. I got an allocation this past weekend on like 8/7 and when I called the Genius line to get the week of production they said that my dealer received this allocation on 7/27.. which makes me think people are dropping off the waitlist due to various reasons.

Who knows for real though. I take everything the sales guy tells me with a grain of salt. He also said I could option Skyscraper Grey on my MY24 too

Build week listed as 41

I went through a broker who had found me a different allocation last week but they weren't able to add the carbon pack. I told him I really wanted it and he found a dealer who had an allocation that allowed it and placed the order. I changed it from a red/cognac/manual order I made with the first dealer to this. I test drove a manual carbon equipped car and I found it uncomfortable to shift so I switched to auto.

Looking forward to getting it.

It doesn't make much sense why some cars that get built weeks after others get shipped out first? I have been sitting at 'Final assembly for a month now
