It’s obviously possible to put them on straight then, if you know what you’re doing. I don’t so I’ll take it to my detailer to do next week.

Anybody in the Uk who has received their cars suffering from odd and irregular electrical system issues? I’ve had a few warning lights come and go about driver assistance systems not being active and rear camera not available.
Also, does anyone know if UK standard spec cars have lane charge warning as standard. User guide describes it but it’s not presented as an option in my car’s driver assistance menu. |

Well, I finally picked mine up this afternoon. Incredibly it only took 21 days at sea and 4 days from port to dealer, yet it sat about 8 weeks or so in Mexico. I think I just missed the delay on cars coming over, there's currently another issue. Big job in the morning to detail and PPF. Build quality is pure BMW for any worriers. On a side note as others have said, why did they go with the high gloss diffuser at the front. I've had to polish out a load of marks from shipping/handling. Those rear quarters on it are perfect, the images don't do the width justice.

This is my first post, I have been watching this thread carefully since ordering back in December.
My brooklyn grey went to 165 2 weeks ago and I checked with genius chat thing last weekend, but no movement. Does anyone know of when the next ship is leaving for UK? Congrats on all of you that have received there cars. I truly cannot wait. |

The next K line ship from Veracruz to Southampton is the Horizon Highway, scheduled to leave 2/8 and arrive 25/8. It's a long crossing as it's scheduled to call at Barcelona before the UK.

Thanks for the info. Is it normal to goto Barcelona? Thought it was either bremahaven or straight to Southampton. |

Finally went out, in it today. Quirky it is, you have to hold your foot down to keep it at the speed you want, it's hard to explain, the car's making you work. It's super refined, coming from my g22 440i, which supposedly is the same width, this seems much wider, the bonnet is something I will have to get used to as it's quite high. It was worth the wait. Brooklyn grey is awful for showing all the nibs and fish eyes in the clear, will need another morning to sort those out, and I knew CFR would be prone to CF miss stitches, but why did I have to have one right on the drivers side. Car's doing about 30.5 MPG so I'm pleasantly surprised. Driving assistance is not the same as in my 440i, for some reason I can't get it to automate the speed limits. Will get some pictures soon.

Some perspectives after a few days of driving my automatic (albeit at less than 5000 rpm as still < 600 miles done so pre 1200 service):
- the car is 3 cars in 1. Comfortable Daily driver and nice smooth motorway cruiser. Very practical. We’ve been away for the weekend with plenty of bags and dog in portable cage on back seat. You could happily travel long distances. 2. Mid level sports car when you use the paddles and take control - surprisingly involving actually! I changed my order from manual on advice of senior BMW Uk contact who told me auto would ring more performance out of the car. 3. Play with the settings use the paddles or sequential gear lever and this thing wakes up from a semi slumber and is then an absolute beast. Lightning quick. Way faster than my 997 911. And I’m still not doing more than 5000 RPM. I’ve not explored the limits, BUT you do not feel the weight. The engineering belies the weight. You soon get used to the tech. Shame you cannot configure the HUD for road mode. So driving it mostly in Sport. It only disengages the driver nannies but gives you a rev counter in the HUD which is missing in road. Still exploring the car and trying to get to 600 miles so can go to 6000 rpm. Then 1200 for break in service. Cannot imagine the performance level when you can hit 7500 rpm. It’s been a long wait but well worth it. My best advice: Don’t get frustrated with the wait and look at the Cayman GTS!! |

Sorry if this is contained somewhere else in the myriad of threads on the forum but can anyone tell me how to permanently disable the speed limit warning "bonging" sound and the hideous lane assist so they don't reappear every time the car is restarted on a UK configured car?

Put car in Sport Mode as soon as you start disables both lane assist and speed warning. You can permanently stop speed warning in Road mode in settings. Not in car at present so cannot give specifics |
