First time poster here, hey all!

I sat in the dreaded 'Ready for transport' for just under 3 weeks. Then, as of this morning, I went from that to 'awaiting carrier assignment', 'at the port', and now 'in transit' (which I've learned from previous posts means it's on the boat on it's way up here).

Is it common to skip like 4 shipping steps in one day? Me thinks they scan and move cars through in batches vs individually. Probably a time delay in batch data uploads to a status data base that feeds customer facing portals. (my job is professional data nerd)

It'll be going to Downtown Los Angeles BMW (where i lived before i moved and where i placed the order) and then I'm having it shipped out here to Wisconsin where I live now. Rough overview of timeline is:
-ordered on 6/20
-entered prod like 7/20ish
-entered RFT 8/5ish
-went from RFT to in transit on boat all today, 8/23

Excited to be part of the community! I've been into BMWs since watching the old guy ritchie BMW marketing films in the early 2000s when I was in middle school, driving a friend's dad's e30 325i, and now being in a spot in my personal and professional life to comfortably afford a custom built to spec BMW.

Ordered a 230i on July 30 from first dealer and was told they had an allocation and would place the order. After 3 weeks and no production number, and told there was a “delay”, I went to a different dealer, got an immediate allocation, order, and production number. Build date Oct 28, 2024. I suspect the first dealer didn’t have an allocation and was putting me on a waitlist. Pretty slimy.

update, just went to in port from in transit so it's at the vpc in port hueneme. my dealer estimates that it'll get there by EOW. i'm thankful that i haven't had the nightmare experience that others have had (i say that cautiously as it's not done and over yet...). i was expecting a bad experience as mine was a 25 instead of a 24, but things have gone smoothly so far.

Still no MY25 photos? F12 still shows my prod date as 9/4 but I'm still stuck on Production Begins. I assume to be done tomorrow it would likely start down the assembly line some time today?

I’ve been stuck on Status 165 - transit from Mexico to Bremerhaven, for 4 weeks now. Still waiting to be shipped. I was hoping it was on one of the ships leaving Veracruz for the UK the past couple of days but my status hasn’t been updated.

Just checked again and it's "In transit", so it did skipped a couple of steps.... I called BMW genius and was told ship name is Glovis Champion, ETA 9/10 in Brunswick GA

I just checked again and “The current order status is 195 - exit from port or compound. This was updated on the 03/09/24. This means that your new BMW is currently at sea on its way to Southampton Port of Arrival.” Expected delivery week commencing October 14th!

Still RFT. I'm seeing 3 vehicle carrier ships at Altamira (Hawaiin Highway is currently docked, Viking Odessa and Glovis Sky are both anchored waiting their turn). Hope I'm getting on one of these. With a purple car coming to MN and having a Grandma named Odessa I know which one fate points to :-).

August 30th, 2024: Placed an order with my local BMW dealership.
August 30th, 2024: Production number assigned and scheduled for production.
September 12th, 2024: Production begins and VIN assigned.

The day has come! ordered in June, delivered and finished today! 2025 240i xdrive in BG/Cognac.

Transporter will pick her up next Monday and should be to me on Thursday.
