First, who gives a shit if corps make money? Thats their bad business model, not mine.

Second, if everyone waits, we dont progress. There have to be growing pains and people willing to endure them. If youre not helping, youre just a distraction.

No it is politicians and unelected bureaucrats with an agenda that squandered tax payer money and it is green grift that send billions of tax payer money to "corporations" who profit and then go bankrupt.

No the issue is that this "progress" should be funded by the private sector and not forced on tax payers. May be you noticed we are at 34.06Trillion in debt.

Electric vehicle owners are frustrated and demand the return of gas cars. Electric cars may represent the future of transportation, but many EV owners now want out. The anticipated revolution in electric vehicles (EVs) appears to be hitting a speed bump.

Toyota is looking smarter every day and BMW is looking more stupid every day.
Madaz is very slow going into EV and they are focusing in building hybrid as well.

Asheville, North Carolina, is looking to reinvest in biodiesel-powered buses after investing millions of dollars in an electric fleet that is only partly operable, WLOS reported.
Cities across America are starting to regret their massive electric bus investments as they continue to pour funds into costly, time-consuming repairs.
Asheville purchased five Proterra electric buses in 2018 for $5 million. Since then, the city has spent more than $200,000 to build vehicle chargers. Additionally, Asheville spends $118,000 annually for the contract to lease the buses' batteries and another $45,481 to charge the vehicles, according to Asheville's interim transportation director, Jessica Morriss.
"If you added that altogether, I think, probably $900,000 to $1 million is what each one cost. And, since then, we've had to invest additional money into maintaining them and fixing them," she added.
McDaniel explained that the buses could travel only about 78 miles, equivalent to about three trips to the airport, before they must be charged for several hours.

Amusing. As an investor I give a shit if corporations make profit. I know, stupid of me, right? We all should just earn a universal basic income and all drive just the one single-model car the government produces for us. Well, I'm different. Should I apologize here?

Dude, are you high? Rod blagoyovitch (or whatever) went to prison merely for selling his ‘blessing’ on who could run for Obama’s old seat. The total amount of money Chicago politicians had access to would be in the tens of billions of dollars over that time. You really think, a) the ability to control all that wealth (if you were stealing it) would be peacefully handed over every time theres an election? Or b) that rod b. would not have used his billions to stay out of jail if he could actually control things? I dont see govt officials going around buying media companies. At BEST, a crooked politician would only be as rich as, say, mitch mcconnell or nancy pelosi, and they arent really that rich when you start looking at billionaires. Sure, they have a way better life than they deserve or that most can have, but it still appears that the system is only corrupt enough to produce a few millionaires.

Man, people still eat tide pods. Do you not think the private sector is also investing in this? They are about to build billions in factories that, if EVs dont catch on, would require significant investment to repurpose something that the govt is not required to buy back from them. They could be stuck with state of the art factories that produce nothing. All the investment from govt is just proving to the markets that govt is on board with adopting this new technology; basically subsidizing demand until 2035. Can capitalism radically change our world in 10 years?

Who would you rather see profit? You or a corp?

And why do you think this: “ just the one single-model car the government produces for us.” Wouldn't the ‘global elite’ give everyone ‘the illusion of choice’ by having 2-3 big companies produce only the products “they” want? The ‘illusion of capitalism’ keeps them in line?

The problem is most Hybrids are trash technology and are nothing more than a overly complicated EV with a ICE engine.

No, it’s the American way to be greedy and not give a crap about anything but making money. I am sure none of the companies you invest in have ever done any harm to anyone or anything….

Does liking profit make me an asshole?

BTW, I ran all five of my car's engines at once this morning. The 325i was dead. Checked the other 4. Oh, shit, I also ran the diesel tractor to jump the 325i. It was the only vehicle I could get close enough for the cables to reach...

Summary of Hybrid from Japanese car manufactures:
Toyota - the best and absolute bullet proof Hybrid and highly refined in design, planetary gear E-CVT transmission won't break
Honda IMA - old hybrid system that Honda no longer makes it, it's similar to the Mild Hybrid that's called by another manufacturer
Honda new hybrid system - near Toyota's reliability but small different in design than Toyota's hybrid, it has 2 clutches so it will break
Hyundai - its Hybrid motor is mated with a DCT tranny, not reliable in long term
Subaru - not available in Canada, its Hybrid motor is mated with a DCT tranny, not reliable in long term
Mitsubishi - not sure but it has clutches, got a feeling that is similar to Honda's hybrid

Why Chevrolet gave up on the near-pure-series Voltec drivetrain I'll never understand. Much more sophisticated than Toyota's parallel Prius (which TRW developed in the early 1970's BTW).
