Yea, genius told me they were going to hit Florida ports first to get ahead of storm but in reality I think they were probably locked into going to JAX next and whether picking up and/or dropping off cars I'm sure no one involved wants a bunch of cars sitting outside right before a hurricane hits. They went south near Cuba to wait out the storm. My car is going to Baltimore port but no idea how many other stops it will be making on the east coast. I'm actually out of town all next week so that will make the waiting easier.

Updates for me today

Sep 25 - Order placed with dealer (allocation available)
Sep 26 - In myBMW as Order Received
Sep 27 - Production begins
Oct 9 AM - Body assembly begins and Paint
Oct 10 AM- Entering Assy Line
Oct 10 PM - Assembly in progress

Moving far faster than I had anticipated but I'm obviously excited still.

And of course I must prepare myself for things to go sideways somewhere down the line.

Quite possible. haha.

240i skyscraper, tacora red. premium option carbon fiber trim and added harmon kardon sound system.

I'm gonna have the dealer tint windows and add m perf front splitter and spoiler.

I called the BMW Genius phone number. Not sure when exactly they know the ship, it might not be until it is loaded on, but at some point they have that info and are willing to share it. They were also able to tell me the day they thought it would get to my destination port.

Hmmm, my order has been on quality control since the 26th of September. Next week is week 7 and I was told it'd take 6-8 weeks for delivery. Should I expect another four step update when this happened last time or will it be at my dealer any day now?

Maybe waiting on a specific part before it can go into final build.

Mine was in final build for about 8 days. But has only moved to next step so far. No 4 step update for me yet.

Sitting at final assembly since the 11th, figure its just an app update thing though. It clearly does not update in real time since the updates get clustered together so much.

August 30th, 2024: Placed an order with my local BMW dealership.
August 30th, 2024: Production number assigned and scheduled for production.
September 12th, 2024: Production begins and VIN assigned.
September 26th, 2024: Exterior body assembly begins.
September 26th, 2024: In the paint shop.
September 26th, 2024: Entering assembly line.
September 26th, 2024: Assembly in progress.
September 26th, 2024: Quality control.
October 18th, 2024: Final assembly.
October 18th, 2024: Ready for transport.

FYI… Glovis Sun vehicle carrier is expected at port VERACRUZ in Mexico on 10/24. So if your BMW is “ready for transport” it might be changing to “in transit” very soon. Let’s watch this ship!!!

Spoke with BMW genius today and thy said my car has been "handed off to sales" but is not yet at the port in mexico? Looking it up, the factory is not close to the port at all.

Hoping it makes it on the next boat, they couldnt tell me.

My G87 M2 was built on September 25 and has been sitting at “ready for transport” ever since. I’m being pro-active and looking at the next ship to doc at the port BMW uses. As mentioned the GLOVIS Sun is due in port Veracruz on 10/24. Let’s cross our fingers that the people with current BMW built car status will be on this ship.

Glovis Challenge finally heading to Baltimore! My car has been on a cruise since 9/10. Curious how long it will take to show up at dealer after unloading in Baltimore?

My first post and first BMW ordered (M240i xdrive). Ordered on September 6, Production finished on September24, I have been in Ready for transport since October 6. I'm 70+ and just wanting to get out and have some fun and enjoyment with a little sports coupe. Like so many others, the wait really sucks. Like a previous post, I also have fingers crossed on Glovis Sun being the ride to Baltimore.Soaking up a lot of info from you guys, thanks.

The Glovis Courage just spent 3 days at the Altamira port and is scheduled to reach Brunswick on Oct 25th. I was expecting to see an update after that----was in "ready for transport" for 2 weeks. BUT, now I see an update to "In Transit. Must have caught an earlier ship. Great. Maybe by the weekend. Perhaps your M2 is on the Courage.
