Great information. Thanks

Glovis Challenge arrived in Baltimore and my car status went to In Port. Sent a question to dealer to see if they have an ETA yet on dealership arrival.

Same here, my dealer thinks there’s a good chance this is delivered to them in Cincinnati by next week.

Wonder how long the inspection process takes and guess at the mercy of the trucking company’s delivery schedule

I'm going a bit further (Minnesota). I have no port installed options so I'm hoping I get through quickly. I even bought their official all weather floormats online because I was worried they might be backordered and slow things down LOL.

To be assigned to carrier status

My 2025 M240ix was ordered on 7/19/24. Production was completed a couple weeks ago and labeled "ready for transport," but been stuck in "awaiting carrier assignment" for a couple of weeks. Back in July the dealer predicted end of November.

I really didn't want to go thru 200+ pages to find an answer so please forgive me. I've some posts where they are given a status number like 150, 151, 152, etc. Where does one find that number? I have access to my build on MYBMW but when I click the "track order" all I see are the white dots. And what status is too late to make changes to an order?

I use the f12 developer tools and read the data stream.

You can use the chrome extension for an easier process but I've never used it.

https://g80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1968303

Its just the number you get i don't think there's much extra information. The tracker updates in spurts and takes long pauses.... still better than the info other brands provide on builds.

I'm not computer literate. What does "f12 developer mode" mean? I assume once the car receives a VIN and goes into the production queue, no changes can be made?
And if it's in "production queue" can you actually find out when the car will actually start the building process? (which week)

You have to ask the dealer for that information.

If you aren't comfortable with the technical manual process then you should use the chrome extension, I assume instructions are in that link.

All those in status “ready for transport” our best hope is the GLOVIS Sun. It was supposed to be in port Veracruz on October 24th, but it was delayed and is now pulling in port Veracruz today, October 26th. Once Marine Traffic updated we will know if this ship is going to Baltimore. Keep posting your status updates!!

For others on the East coast, Morning Menad is en route to Altamira now, departing 10/29 and headed directly to NY and arriving 11/4.

For Veracruz, Global Leader is arriving 11/2, departing 11/4, makes a stop in Jacksonville on 11/8, and arrives in NY 11/13.

One of these three ships has to be the one!

Great information…do you know where the GLOVIS Sun is heading after leaving Veracruz?

Unfortunately no. I can't find any info on the Glovis schedules.

Last year Brunswick and Sparrows Point were the top port calls for that vessel. It looks like it makes trips to the east coast US, but doesn't look like it comes up my way to NY.

Just noticed Glovis Sky is also at port in Altamira now. This is another ship that looks like it goes up and down the east coast US as well. This one does go up to NY and has had more port calls at a larger number of US ports than Glovis Spirit.

I guess we'll have to wait and find out. Unless someone can find the Glovis sailing schedule and expected arrivals.

Wow… I didn’t realize how many car carrier ships are in and out of these two ports in Mexico. I’m hoping my M2 gets on one of them. I’ve been built since 9/25 and ready for transport since 10/5. BMW Genius told me yesterday it takes 30 days to make it to either port in Mexico. I personally don’t think there information is accurate. Thanks again… great information!!

30 days seems like a very long time. It seems like there's a good number of cars ready for transport. My order just hit that status on October 18th. I'm hoping for some movement any day now, so I can get my car... ordered on August 30th. Trying to be patient, of course... lol.

Trying to figure out when to order

I have a Jeep lease ending in April. My plan is to purchase (not lease because the deals suck) and order the 240i specs exactly how I want the car. Now my question is WHEN I should order. Ideally I would like the car to arrive late Feb to March. I will still one or 2 lease payments left, but I can swing both if it comes early. I’ve been following the forum to see how long it’s taking people to actually receive their car and it’s still tough to get the timing right. Any advice? If I order in December I figure that would put me Feb/March arrival. I just don’t want to go over and have to turn in my current lease and have no car, but also trying to time this so I don’t have multiple months of double payments. Any advice? I’m in TX

Finally an update.
10/30/2024 at port.
I’m not sure if this means the port in Mexico or the US Port.
My BMW tracker has skipped over “awaiting carrier assignment” and “dispatched from factory”
